One-bedroom apartment in the Marais area

Neighborhood: A very high-demand area, the Marais features the well-known pedestrian rue des Gravilliers with nice shops, fishmongers, greengrocers, and gorgeous restaurants and cafes. This is one of the neighborhoods of Paris that has preserved almost all of its pre-Revolutionary architecture. In the vicinity of this street are the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center, also known as Beaubourg, the wide Les Halles Mall, and, a little farther is the royal Place des Vosges, the former residence of many historic personalities and home to a number of precious museums. Most of the significant points of interest such as the Louvre, city hall, and the Seine with its enchanting islands are in fair walking distance. Premises: This 67m² (approx. 720 sq. ft.) one-bedroom apartment is located on the third floor (fourth in the USA) of a 17th century walk-up building. The main entrance is protected by a coded security system and opens into a corridor with exposed wall stone; this leads to a second door with an intercom that accesses the staircase. This apartment has kept its authentic aspect with its tommette tile floor, high ceilings (2.80m - 9.20 ft.) and exposed ceiling beams. The entrance door opens into a long corridor; the living room is straight ahead and the other rooms are to the right. The spacious 32m² (approx. 340 sq. ft.) living room has two windows overlooking the street with a northern exposure. It is decorated in an antique style and furnished with two single-size sofa beds, two armchairs, a coffee table, a dining table with chairs, a chest of drawers and some bookshelves. This room is equipped with a nice working fireplace, a cable flat screen TV and a stereo. A high-speed Internet connection is available. The open kitchen is equipped with four vitro-ceramic burners topped by a cooker hood, an oven, a refrigerator,a microwave, a freezer, a kettle, a coffee maker, a toaster and a washing machine. The 12m² (approx. 125 sq. ft.) bedroom has a window overlooking a courtyard with a southern exposure. It is furnished with a queen-size bed, a bedside table, a cabinet, a closet and a console with a small cable TV, and a DVD player. The tiled bathroom is accessed via the bedroom; it contains a shower and a washbasin. The toilette is separate and accessible from the entrance corridor. Heat and hot water are electric. The nearest metro station is Arts et Métiers (line 3 and 11).
