Neighborhood: This apartment is located in the heart of one of the most luxurious parts of Paris, between rue de Surenne and the famous Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, widely cited as being the most fashionable street in the world thanks to the presence of every major luxurious fashion house. It is located near the Tuileries area, which is bound by the vast and harmonious expanse of the Concorde Square at one end and the grand Louvre at the other; this was a place for kings and palaces. Close by is the Place Vendôme, featuring all of the most renowned jewelers. The Louvre, containing one of the most important art collections in the world, is situated just a few steps from the apartment. There are all sorts of essential shops and services in the neighborhood. It is a secure area surrounded by a lot of embassies. This apartment is part of General La Fayette's flat, who fought for the independence of the US. Premises: This 30m² (approx. 320 sq. ft.) modern alcove studio apartment is located on the first French floor of a walk-up building constructed in 1728; Lafayette lived in this building. The main entrance door is protected at night by a coded security system and opens into a nice paved courtyard. From the entrance corridor, a door with an intercom leads to the wooden staircase. The apartment has a parquet floor and high ceilings (4m - 13.10 ft.). The entrance door opens into a corridor that links each room. The 11m² (approx. 115 sq. ft.) living room has a large window overlooking the courtyard with an eastern exposure. It is decorated in a contemporary style and is furnished with a sofa, an armchair, a designer coffee table, a console with a small cable TV and DVD player, and a built-in closet that contains a washing machine. This room has a DSL high-speed Internet connection. The open kitchen is equipped with two vitro ceramic burners topped by a cooker hood, a combo microwave/grill oven, a small refrigerator, an Italian-style coffee maker, an electric kettle and a toaster. The 7m² (approx. 75 sq. ft.) bedroom area is accessible through the entrance corridor by an opening. It is furnished with a double-size bed (140cm x 200cm), two bedside tables, built-in closets and a built-in desk with bookshelves. It is equipped with a stereo sound system and has a large window overlooking the street with a western exposure. The bedroom area accesses the bathroom from a sliding door. It has a shower and a washbasin. The separate toilette is accessible from the entrance corridor. Heat and hot water use gas. The nearest metro stations are Madeleine (lines 8, 12, 14) and Saint-Augustin (line 9)
