This furnished apartment is in the very exclusive Ile St Louis, a mostly residential area and one of the most selective and beautiful Paris neighborhoods. In the middle of the island, there are numerous little shops, cozy crêperies, and smart restaurants, often in vaulted cellars, which form an attractive setting for an elegant meal. The harmony of the closely packed houses, the little cafes where a petit café can be enjoyed at leisure, the quiet quays and the aura of the past which pervades the island, give it a particular charm. This accommodation is very close to the Hôtel de Ville, the Latin Quarter and the Panthéon.
Premises:
This 41m² (approx 440 sq ft) one-bedroom apartment is located on the fifth and top floor of a 17th century walk-up building. The main entrance gate is protected by a coded system and opens into a hall leading to a second door with an intercom. This last door opens to the staircase. The apartment entrance opens into a small hall with a built-in closet. This leads to the 17m² (approx. 180 sq. ft.) living room, which has kept its original elegance with wooden ceiling beams, a tommette tiled floor and an antique decor. It has a window with curtains that overlooks a courtyard with a northern exposure. It is furnished with a sofa, wooden armchairs, a coffee table and other chic furniture. There is also an air conditioner (adjustable with a remote control), a phone, a flat screen TV with a DVD player and a high speed DSL Internet connection (with wireless access).
A narrow corridor leads to a door that opens onto the 17m² (approx. 180 sq. ft.) sunny terrace. It has a wooden floor and is furnished with a dining table, chairs, exterior heating and plants. This terrace has a southern exposure and offers a wonderful view of the Ile Saint Louis rooftops and Notre Dame.
The pleasant and tiny 7m² (approx. 75 sq. ft.) bedroom has a window offering the same view and exposure as the living room. It also has the original tommette tiled floor and exposed beams. It is furnished with a double-size bed (160cm wide) draped by elegant curtains.
The separate, convenient kitchen has a window and is equipped with two vitro-ceramic burners, a refrigerator with a small freezer compartment, a sink, a combo washer/dryer, a combo grill/microwave, a small dishwasher, a coffee maker, a toaster and a kettle. There is also a wooden table with matching chairs and exposed ceiling beams.
The tiled bathroom contains a shower (with a balneotherapy system), a designer washbasin and a toilette. There is also a stained glass window.
Heat and hot water are electric and individually metered.
For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro stations are Pont Marie (line 7), Maubert Mutualité (line 10) and Cité (line 4).
