Neighborhood:
Located on Boulevard Voltaire in Paris between Rue de la Roquette and Rue Mercoeur, this furnished apartment is next to the Place Leon Blum and its numerous cafes, restaurants, and other services and La Petite Roquette Park with its fountains and flowers. Many people frequent this popular neighborhood where artists and craftsmen live. The historic Place de la Bastille and the new Opéra House, considered one of the best operas in the world, is at the beginning of Rue de la Roquette. Place des Vosges, known for its art galleries, antique shops and also for the famous French novelist Victor Hugo's residence at 6, is a 10-minute walk away. You can visit his apartment and the room where he wrote his novels (especially Les Misérables). A wide selection of traditional ethnic restaurants, cafes, and open-air markets such as the one on Place d'Aligre provide unforgettable experiences for all of the senses. Small shops to larger chain stores such as Monoprix, and a variety of services are easily found near this accommodation.
Premises:
This 50m² (approx. 530 sq. ft.) one-bedroom apartment is located on the third floor of a 19th century walk-up building. The entrance gate, protected by a coded security system, opens into a corridor, which leads to a courtyard. Then a second gate opens into the staircase area.
The apartment entrance opens into a corridor, which links the living room and the open kitchen and the separate bathroom. The bedroom is accessible from the living room.
The 22m² (approx. 235 sq. ft.) living room has two windows with northwest exposure overlooking a courtyard. It is furnished with two double-size sofas, a coffee table, a desk and chair, a chest of drawers, some bookshelves and a console with a TV, a DVD player and a stereo. There is also a decorative fireplace.
The open kitchen has a window and is equipped with three gas burners and an electric plate topped by a cooker hood, a refrigerator, a freezer, an oven, a coffee maker, a kettle and a toaster. There is also a washing machine.
The 14m² (approx. 150 sq. ft.) bedroom has a window with southeast exposure overlooking a courtyard. It is furnished with a double-size bed, a bedside table, a built-in closet, a desk and chair, and a decorative fireplace.
The separate bathroom has a bathtub topped by a showerhead, a washbasin and a toilette.
Heat and hot water are gas.
For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro station is Voltaire (line 9).
