We only saw the owner for two minutes when we arrived. We had a problem leaving the apartment; we had no possibility to throw away the garbage, because we came late at night and left at 5am the next morning and the door were the disposables are, closes at 8pm and opens app.7am. I wrote several times to the owner apologizing, we never received an answer, although we left the ap. in perfect conditions.

I'm a bit surprised by your feedback. As regards to check-in, I leave the keys under the doormat and a guide for the apartment so people are free to arrive with no time commitment and can discover the accommodation on their own.

Next, I remember showing the apartment. After the stay, I did indeed get an email which, in the way it was written, didn't call for an answer. I am aware of the constraints related to waste disposal.

Thank you for your comments Ines and Daniel and I still hope you had a very nice stay in Paris.

The apartment is very compact by American standards and a little oddly arranged (bathtub/shower by bedroom, toilet in kitchen/living room area), but since we mainly were there to sleep, it was definitely adequate to our needs.

It was pretty noisy - walls seem to be paper-thin, and we could hear talking, showers running, etc, as well as noise from the apartments across the courtyard, but it wasn't really bothersome - we were probably equally noisy!

The neighborhood is very nice, with cafes, stores, and two Metro stops close by, our host was very helpful and accommodating, and the area felt safe. We really enjoyed our stay!

The apartment is compact indeed (30m2) for there is no loss of space and as functional as can be for a 1 bedroom vacation rental with all mod cons (dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, tub, large washbasin). It is due to the fact that it used to be 3 small rooms that were merged to create an atypical space.

You can access the bathroom through a small corridor that also leads to the bedroom, separated by a thick curtain (a door would have taken too much space)

As the building is a former hotel from the 30s, the walls are very thin. However, as the apartments are small, they are for the most part occupied by couples or people on their own. The only adjoining apartment is behind our kitchen. As the apartment looks over the courtyard, it is very quiet at night.

Finally, I can confirm that the neighborhood is one the safest ones in Paris. There is nothing to worry about.

The apartment itself was good enough for us to sleep in after a long walk exploring Paris. Space was a bit tight but we were in Paris so there was no expectation of a big space. The owner was very nice to us, we did not arrive on the date of arrival as we can't get booking on the train so he gave us an extension of one more night with no charge. The apartment was sufficeint enough for our needs. And yeah, there was a French wine to welcome us :) The only negative side of the apartment was you can hear people going in to their units at 2 or 3am in the morning and they speak LOUD as if they have no neighbours......I guess there is no insulation on the walls.
