Paris Accommodation 1 Bedroom Rental in Montmartre (PA-4297)

This one bedroom loft apartment is located on the fourth floor (considered 5th by Americans) of a six floor elevator Hausmanien building in the Montmartre neighborhood of the 18th arrondissement in Paris. The vacation rental is situated at Rue Lamarck & Rue Duhesme and has a digicode security system and in-apartment laundry facilities for your convenience.

Enter the accommodation in a hallway that gives access to both the bedroom and living space. To the right is the Living Room and Kitchen, which benefit from an open floor plan layout. At the far end is the living area where you will find a sectional sofa, flat screen television and coffee table. Between this space and the kitchen is a dining table with seating for 4. Behind the dining table, and part of the kitchen counter is a bar area that has two tall chairs. From the bar you can overlook into the fully equipped kitchen. This bright space has a two-burner electric stove with overhead hood, dishwasher, regular oven, and espresso machine. The washing machine can also be found in this room. Three windows in this space keep it light and airy.

Between the kitchen and Living Room is the black and white-tiled bathroom. In here is a stall shower, sink with shelving below and a hanging mirror above, and a towel warmer. For added privacy the bedroom can be found at the opposite side of the apartment. Furnished with a queen-sized bed and a dresser, this room also has a large window on one wall that welcomes lots of natural light into the room.

Outside the one bedroom vacation rental you will find yourself on the same road as the Sacré Coeur Basilica, one of the most iconic landmarks of not only the Montmartre section Paris, but Paris in general. Famous for its rich artistic history, Montmartre is known to many as one of the most vibrant sections of the city. Wander the streets to find artists set up on the side of the road painting the landscape of the city, and sometimes offering to paint your portrait. On Boulevard de Clichy you can even see the former residences of some of the most famous artists such as Picasso (No. 11) and Degas (No, 6). Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh and Seurat also lived on the street.

Walking around this area you may find yourself recognizing some places that were featured in the movies Amélie and Moulin Rouge, two films that highlighted the area. At 15 rue Lepic is Café des Deux Moulins, the restaurant where Amélie waited tables, and on Boulevard de Clichy is the real-life Moulin Rouge cabaret where you can still find the can-can dancers that Toulouse-Lautrec painted at the turn of the 20th century. To see the last remaining "moulins" or windmills head to rue Lepic where Moulin Radet stands today. When Rénoir was painting them there were over 40! While in this section catch a movie at Ciné 13 (1 Avenue Junot), the oldest and continuously operating movie theater in Paris. To have an authentic cabaret experience head to Au Lapin Agile on Rue Saules where singers and other artists perform nightly.

To access the rest of Paris, metro station Lamarck-Caulaincourt is right around the corner and services Line 12. Line 12 provides easy transportation to central Paris and other destination neighborhoods such as La Madeleine, Louve-Rivoli, and Saint Germain-des-Près.
