In the heart of a lively Parisian neighborhood, this modern 10-storey building features excellent security. An electronic key operates the gate, front door and elevator. Guests are admitted via an intercom system. The building has a live-in superintendent. This corner apartment, gets beautiful light from picture windows facing East and opening onto the terrace. It is on the 10th and top floor, giving the living room and smaller bedroom views to the horizon to the East. The larger bedroom has a view North to Sacré Coeur. The interior features white painted walls throughout and a mix of simple modern furniture and antiques. The walls of the apartment are decorated with an eclectic mix of original art, prints and photos. The living/dining room has a maple floor, a beech and glass top table that seats 6 or can be opened up to seat 10. Bookshelves along the back wall hold an extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction in English and French, a telephone, a fax, and a stereo with FM radio, cassette and CD. There is no television. The living area has a blue sofa and chair, a 1920s-style inlaid buffet and a Persian carpet on the floor. Lighting can be high and bright or low and intimate. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, a four-burner electric stove, an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher and a washing machine. It is fully equipped with pots and pans and dinnerware for 10. The bathroom has a tub with a shower. The toilet is separate. The larger of the two bedrooms has a double bed, walk-closet and a home office. A second phone line is available for connecting to the internet from your laptop. The smaller of the two bedrooms has a double bed and an antique nightstand. The terrace has plants and a table that can seat 8. Lively neighborhood on the edge of the Bastille area. A 10-minute walk takes you to the Bastille opera house. The river and the Marais neighborhood are a 20-minute walk away. A 10-minute walk to the East brings you to the historic and peaceful Père Lachaise cemetery. There are several colourful street markets located a short walk from the door, as well as supermarkets, restaurants, bars, galleries, jazz clubs, etc. Banks and the post office are all nearby.
