Peaceful and brand new
|
Situated halfway through an "old-Paris" narrow stairway-street, in a very calm surrounding. The neighborhood is built on a hill and is named "The Village in Paris" as it is mostly made up of small 1-2 story houses. 20 yards up the stairway, a unique panoramic view of Paris is offered: the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, and the Pantheon, all at a birds-eye view.
The building is only 2 years old and has been featured in French architecture magazines. The apartment is on the ground floor, a 96m2 duplex with a spacious L-shaped living room and open kitchen. The apartment sleeps 5 adults. The ground floor holds 1 bedroom and the upper floor 2 more bedrooms.
The apartment is particularly bright with large windows all around. The view from the living room, and bedroom is through a French window on a small private garden-terrace. The terrace has a table with six chairs and all meals can thus be had in a country surrounding.
The floor is bright wood on the ground floor and wall-to-wall carpeting on the upper floor. The apartment is painted white and is therefore extremely bright throughout the day. Large windows on the other side of the apartment overlook a hillside park maintained by the city of Paris (but which is closed to the public i.e., no disturbance).
The living room has a convertible couch with a very comfortable bed for 2. In addition one of the upper rooms
The dining area has a heavy French wooden dining table easily seating 6. Living room offers TV and stereo. Another TV is available in the upper bedroom. A shower is available on the ground floor, as well as a dressing room, and separated restroom. A bathtub is on the upper floor.
The ground floor bedroom has a queen-size bed, one upper bedroom has a single bed, and the other is equipped for a child (of up to 3 years) with crib, toys, books etc, also having a convertible foam seat (becomes a single mattress straight on the floor).
Open to the living room the kitchen is equipped with four vitro ceramic burners, a traditional electric oven, a microwave oven, a hood with exhaust fan, a combo fridge-freezer, and dishwasher. A washing machine is available in the bathroom.
200 yards away is the Buttes Chaumont park created as a botanical garden with lakes, waterfall and playgrounds in the days of Napoleon III on the site of an abandoned quarry (great for peaceful jogging). A 10-minute walk from the apartment is the Saint Martin Canal (featured in the classic French film "Hotel du Nord"), 20 minute away is the La Villette Science Park - great for children.
A metro-ride to the heart of Paris (Chatelet) is 20 minutes door-to-door. 3 Bus lines are also available. Besides a supermarket, the neighborhood has an excellent bakery and pastry shop, a greengrocer, butcher and is 10 minutes away form an open air market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The apartment is at a distance of 3-6 minutes from three metro stations - Jaures (lines 2, 5, 7b), Colonel Fabien (line 2), and Bolivar (line 7b).
