Peaceful Homestay in Montpellier

On the edge of Montpellier, in a residential neighboorhood overlooking the city and situated near the Universities, this house has two independent bedrooms with a private entrance. Those bedrooms would be available as a Bed&Breakfast for two couples or a couple and their children (2 maximum). The guests will have their private bathroom and will have access to the living-room, the kitchen and to the swimming pool ! Indeed, they will share the common areas with the unhabitants of the house. The house is approached by a newly paved driveway that leads to a covered parking terrace. The front door leads into a large living/dinning area with a French doors looking onto the garden and the swimming pool. The living room is fully furnished with sofas, armchairs, lounge tables and is equipped with TV, VCR, cable and stereo. Next to the living area, the dinning table can accommodate six. A wooden staircase leads to a mezzanine overlooking the living room ; there, you will have the possibility to use a computer and access to the Internet. The guests can use a private entrance to access their bedrooms without crossing the living-room. This entrance is situated a few steps away from the front door, at the back of the house. A hallway leads to the bedrooms on your right- and to the bathroom -at the end. The second bedroom on your right (first on our pictures) is terra cotta-tiled and has a large French door looking onto the swimming pool. It is furnished with a double bed, two nightstands, a desk with a chair and a large closet. Another bedroom, terra cotta-tiled and with a large French door as well, is furnished with twin beds set together, chairs, large closet space and a full-length mirror. Both bedroom are approximately 20 square meters and are looking onto the swimming pool. You can dive, a few steps away ! The bathroom has a stall shower, a double-sink and is blue-tiled in a Moroccan style. A window facing west provides light in the bathroom. The separate water closet are in the hallway, next to the bathroom. Outside, in front of the house and by the swimming pool, some pieces of garden furniture are waiting for your sunbathing and outside eating on those warm summer evenings. The newly remodeled kitchen has cabinets, countertops, and appliances, including 4 gas burners, two ovens, a refrigerator/freezer, a microwave, a toaster, and a coffee maker. Off the kitchen, there is a storage & laundry room with an extra refregerator, and a washing machine. The owner that will receive you traveled a lot and came back with plenty of treasures and souvenirs from the 5 continents. Guided excursions and visits in the most wanted surrounding areas would be possible upon request. There are plenty of things to do and see in the region. As a matter of fact, Montpellier remain one of the most dynamic cities of the South East of France. It is the regional center and seat of the departement. There you will find an unusual cospmopolitan air : department stores, and luxury shops as well as pedestrian streets in the historical quarter. Many festivals are thrown throughout the year. During the summer, and among others, a theater festival "Le Printemps des comédiens "and a Dance Festival are organized. Otherwise, two opera houses host famous symphonic orchestras : the Opera Berlioz and the Opéra Comédie. The Montpellier train station is served by the famous high-speed TGV"Train à Grande Vitesse- that gets you to Paris in approximately 4 hours. Montpellier has an international airport but most of the international flight connections are made through Paris-Charles de Gaulle. By car, Spain is only 2 hours away, Avignon and its famous theater festival an hour only and the Côte d'Azur 3 hours away. Car rentals can be picked up in Montpellier, at the train station or the airport. However, it will be more affordable if your arrange for the rental before you leave home. The house itself is located about 30 minutes north of the Mediterranean beaches (Palavas-les-Flots for instance).
