Charming 3 levels town house (former windmill) in Marseilles - Le Panier Quarter - Amazing views.

This 4 bedroom - house (on 3 levels) can accommodate up to 6 people.
It is located place des Moulins in "Le Panier" historic quarter of Marseilles.
The house is on three levels, it is an entirely refurbished former windmill (dating from the 16th century). You enter the house via this historic square (Place des Moulins) which used to have various windmills.
The house is composed of a main part to which is attached the rounded tower of the mill.
There many levels (distinct stairs in the tower and in the main house), therefore this property is not suitable for people who have physical difficulties with stairs.
The main part of the building includes 2 bedrooms, the bathroom, toilet and living room.
You will find the kitchen, laundry room, one bedroom and a small lounge under the roof in the tower. Most rooms have nice terracotta tiles.
First floor :

You enter the property via a first staircase.
You will find the first bedroom (west exposed) to your right. It is furnished with a double bed two large wardrobes. There are two windows overlooking the peaceful Place des Moulins.
To your left is a second bedroom (east exposed) with a queen-size bed, a wardrobe and a desk. There is a window opening onto a private courtyard.
These rooms share a bathroom with a tub, separate stall shower and a separate toilet.
Up a few steps, you will find the spacious lounge with high ceilings and nice exposed beams. It is furnished with a sofas two comfortable armchairs, a coffee table, a large rectangle dining table a large bookshelf and a cupboard. There is a working fireplace, a TV with DVD player and a stereo.
Next to the living room is the separate kitchen (located in the tower of the mill) equipped with most necessary utensils and house-ware : Electric hot plates, electric oven, microwave oven, refrigerator and freezer and dishwasher.(also available : electric kettle and coffee maker). There is an authentic antic stone sink (cold "pile" in the olden Provence).
There is also a separate laundry room with washing machine, dryer and washbasin.
Second Floor :

A spiral staircase gives access to the third bedroom furnished with a single bed and a large bookshelf (window overlooking the roofs).
Third Floor :
----------------
From this room you have access to the third floor where you will find a double size sofa bed and a TV. There is a lot of light. This is a nice leisure space (top floor of the mill) where the owner uses to paint. There are various small windows opening onto a quiet square but also overlooking the sea and the famous Iles du Frioul...
Bedroom 3 and 4 which are located in the tower of the windmill have an unsual circular shape.
There is a DSL internet access. This is a non smoking property
Outside :
From the living room you have access to the South East exposed spacious terrace (partly covered) offering spectacular 360 ° views onto Marseilles :
The Vieux Port, Notre Dame de la Garde, The Cathedrale de la Major, the harbour and the sea.
Neighbourhood :
The house is located Place des Moulins in the historic quarter of "Le Panier" in the heart of Marseilles. You are just a stone through from the Vieux Port and La Canebiere. This property is ideally located in Marseille.
It is of course ideal to discover the Old Town of Marseille.
« Le Panier ». For 26 centuries it has been the prestigious stage on which Marseille's history is played out. A stroll in the Panier district, the most ancien quarter in France, from the City Hall to the Vieille Charité cultural centre, and visits to the local craft workshops and boutiques.
The nearest subway stations are Joliette (Line # 2) and Vieux Port (Line #1). The closest parking lots are "Hotel de Ville" and "Parking des Phoceens".
Access to Marseilles :
Marseilles Provence International Airport (30 mn front the center)
Train : Gare Saint Charles with the high speed TGV giving access to and from Paris in 3hours ½ but also Nice, Cannes and the Alps is about 3 hours.
Highways from and two all directions (East to the French Riviera, North East to the southern Alps, West to the Cote Blue and Spain, North to Lyon and Paris.
Marseilles is a large Mediterranean city. It is famous for its 'Vieux Port', 'La Canebière', Notre Dame de la Garde Cathedral.
