This three bedroom apartment is in the city-commune of Aix en Provence, in the South of France, about 30 km (approx. 19 miles) north of Marseille. The apartment is located on the top floors of a 5-story, walk-up building from the 18th century, which has a buzzer-intercom at the entrance for security. The building has a garden with horse chestnut and bicentennial plane trees that provide shade during the summer months. The neighborhood is calm, and the quiet front street is well lit at nighttime. Linens and towels will be provided.
The 103m² rental (approx. 1,109 sq ft) features exposed wooden beams and slanted ceilings, which are sometimes low. The bright space has skylights and windows with a southern exposure, overlooking the beautiful garden. The air-conditioned living area is lined with wood floors and furnished with a white sofa and matching armchair facing a coffee table and a flat-screen TV. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and appliances, including a practical dishwasher. Bedroom 1 has a single bed, chest, and shelf stand, while Bedroom 2 contains two single beds (only one is pictured). Bedroom 3 is furnished with a single bed, shelf stand, desk & chair, and a reading lamp. The apartment has two bathrooms, both equipped with a shower, toilet, washbasin, and wall-mounted mirror. The first one is more classic, featuring traditional "tomette" floors, which are red tiles found in many older buildings in France. The second is modern and includes a long counter with a storage cupboard below, as well as a convenient washing machine.
The three bedroom apartment is centrally located of the older part of the city of Aix en Provence. The small street in front of the building connects the Boulevard Aristide Briand to the Avenue de la Violette, which is a route that famous artist and post-impressionist painter, Paul Cézanne, used to take on his way to his studio. All around the neighborhood you'll find nice restaurants and cafés. There is also a small market that's open 7 days a week, where you can find fresh fruits and vegetables. Just 170 meters (approx. 150 ft) down the street you'll find public parking at Parking Pasteur, as well as several shops, including a bakery and grocery store. Right outside the apartment you can access public transportation, as there are multiple bus stops nearby. The city center is about 250 meters (0.2 miles) away. Once there, you can visit the Aix Cathedral, Archevêché theater, and the IEP (better known as the Science Po Aix), a very prestigious higher-education establishment. Walk around the city and take in the picturesque architecture of many buildings, including Hôtel de Ville, Eglise de la Madeleine, and Place des Tanneurs.
