6 bedroom Country house with stunning views of the valley of Apt

After a kilometer of track going into the valley, the road ends in the property. This stone-built Mas sits on a south-facing terraced hillside that's dotted with cherry trees. There are areas for basking in the sun or relaxing in the shade on all four sides of the house. A 5 by 10 meters swimming pool is by the house, and has a wonderful view on the valley. There is enough parking for several cars at the back of the house. The house of approximately 250 sqm distributes a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, six bedrooms, two stall shower bathrooms and a garage used as a utility room. It can accommodate 8 people. Ground floor : The front door leads to a main entrance. Stairs leads to the upper floors. On your left, the living room has a stone fireplace, a French window facing south, a window facing north and is furnished with two sofas, two rattan armchairs, a lounge table, and a writing desk. There is a rectangular table seating four. The dining room is on the right side of the entrance. There is a large rectangular wooden table with benches, and a south exposed window. The kitchen is off the dining room, on the eastern part of the building. It has a French window leading to the main front terrace, a dresser with plates, dishes and silverware, and is equipped with a refrigerator / freezer, a coffee maker, a gas cooker with four burners, and a dishwasher. There is an extra refrigerator / freezer and a washing machine in the utility room, next to the kitchen. During summertime, garden furniture is set on the main terrace shaded by a wonderful chestnut tree. When going up the stairs, a first stall shower bathroom is on your right. It has a sink, a stall shower, a window facing north and WC. Second floor : The master bedroom is pretty large (about 30 sqm) and is furnished with a double bed, two nightstands, a desk with a chair, and some bookshelves. There is a fireplace and a south exposed window. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a sink, a stall shower, and a WC. A second bedroom furnished with a double size bed is on the same floor. It gives access to a third one, which has a double size bed as well, a fireplace and a south exposed window overlooking the garden and the swimming pool. Third floor : There are three bedrooms on the third floor. As on the second floor, one of them has to be crossed to access another one. This top floor has a sloping ceiling and small windows facing south. There is no bathroom on this floor. The western bedroom has a double size bed, a nightstand, a blue sofa, and a fan. The bedroom that we cross to access the eastern bedroom has a single bed and a nightstand. The eastern bedroom has a double size bed and a desk with a chair. Bed & bath linens will be provided. The maintenance of the swimming pool will be done. The house is located a few kilometers from the village of Saint-Saturnin les Apt, in the Park of the Luberon between Apt and the famous village of Gordes. Within a few minutes of the house are supermarkets and stores for food shopping. The surrounding villages contain both gourmet restaurants and simple cafes. The nearby town of Apt has a colorful outdoor market each Saturday and another nearby village, L'Isle Sur Sorgue, has an equally animated outdoor food market and antique flea market every Sunday. Roussillon is also a few kilometers away. The village is worth a look especially for its red land, it has been designated as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The house is in the country so you'll need a car. Rentals can be picked up in Avignon, at the train station or the airport. You'll get the best bargains if you arrange for the rental before you leave home. The closest highway exit is Avignon Sud on the A 7 or Cavaillon (A 7 as well). The Avignon train station is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes ! The Avignon airport has daily flights to Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
