5 Bedroom / 4 bathroom Mas (country house) in the Upper Var

This property is located near the village of Le Luc, which is situated a few kilometers north from the Maures Hills and the Peninsula of Saint-Tropez. This 5 bedroom / 4 bathroom house can accommodate 10 people and is available for weekly rentals during summer or throughout the year. The house is surrounded by hills and has a private garden with a swimming pool (12 by 6 meters), a typical vineyard, and a covered terrace with a barbecue. The caretaker's cottage is at the entrance of the property. He is charge of the garden and the pool maintenance. Maid service is available upon request. Bed and bath linens are provided. Ground floor : A large French door gives access to the living room, which is furnished with rectangular dining table seating 6, two Louis XVI style dressers, and four extra chairs. Another French door open onto a courtyard lay with gravel where is a large dining table. This would be a perfect place to have dinner outside because, just a few steps away is a large covered terrace (with a barbecue) contiguous to the house. There is another dining table if you want to have lunch or dinner under the covered terrace. The southern terrace is laid with gravel and also has a dining table. The living room has two large French doors opening onto the garden. There is a sofa, a dresser, armchairs, a stone fireplace and a TV with VCR as well as a stereo with CD player. At the back of the room, stairs leads to the bedrooms. From this dining area, a small hallway gives access to a fully equipped kitchen : gas cooker with burners, electric oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator / freezer and dishwasher. Off the kitchen is a storage room with a washing machine, a dryer and an extra fridge. Off the dining room is a bedroom with a double size bed, a closet, a dresser, a south exposed window and a TV. It has a private en-suite bathroom (sink with mirror and shower / bathtub). Second floor : Upstairs, there are two bedrooms with private bathroom. The master bedroom has a balcony. It is furnished with a queen size bed, a large closet, and a writing desk. The en-suite bathroom has a bathtub, a stall shower, a sink with mirror, a water closet and an Antique weighing device. A hallway leads to a second bedroom, which has two south exposed French windows that look onto the garden. There is a queen size bed, a desk, a TV with VCR, a leather armchair, two dressers, a vanity table and a large closet. The private bathroom has a sink with mirror and a bathtub. Water closet is separated, in the hallway. Guests Apartment : From the western part of the house, stairs leads to a private apartment with two bedrooms and a bathroom. The two bedrooms have a queen-size beds. The bathroom has a sink, a stall shower and a water closet. One of the bedrooms has a built-in closet, the other one a dresser and an armoire. You may not access the apartment from the rest of the house. It has a private entrance. This village of Le Luc is located in the Var department, 45 km north from Toulon. The property is about 3 kilometers from the village where all the shops and restaurants are. You have plenty of bakeries, banks, groceries and hypermarket near the village, especially on the road N7. The religious fervor of the middle ages led to several fortified buildings and villages being built, which are characteristic of the region. The Cistercians, for instance, built the Thoroney abbey, in the 12th century. Pride of the Provencal Roman architecture, it has been listed historic monument. The Upper Var is a region of contrasts with a fertile plain to the south (planted with vineyards and olive trees), and to the northeast a rugged landscape with pine forests and green oaks. The gastronomy and the famous Côtes de Provence wines have made the renown of this area where you can really live well. The Verdon Canyon is worth a look and is a wonderful place for hikers. As a matter of fact, a botanical path marked out in the Verdon Regional Natural Park starts from the village of Trigance. Draguignan is the capital of the Upper Var region, and forms a crossroads between the Var coastline and the Verdon region. To the south, another chain of mountains, the Maures Hills, separates the Upper Var from the Coast. Saint-Tropez is only 35 kilometers from the village of Le Luc (via La Garde Freinet). The closest highway is the A57, exit Le Cannet des Maures, 15 minutes drive away. This highway goes from the A8 (Nice-Aix Bound) to Toulon. The closest train station is at Aix en Provence (45 minutes drive away) and is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 3 hours ! The closest airport is Toulon / Hyères with daily flights to Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports of Nice-Côte d'Azur or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
