Large studio with balcony overlooking the city in the Old Town of Nice
|
This studio of approximately 25 square meters is located in the heart of the Old Town atop one of the oldest remaining example of an 18th Century Nicoise Palace. The apartment was renovated in 2004. There is an intercom system, and an elevator in the building. The studio can sleep 2 people and offers different possibilities: an extra bedroom can be available if needed (that would make a one bedroom apartment) and another contiguous large one bedroom apartment (see reference number PR-260 on our website) can also be rented in the meantime. Then, you can be a party of 2-4-6-8-10 people, this accommodation would be suitable for you!
The studio contains a secrete treasure: a fresco dating from the 18th century adorns the domed ceiling. Floors are made with traditional Nicoise terracotta tiles. Two French windows equipped with double-glazing give access to the full-length balcony that overlooks the city and, in the background, the surrounding mountains. It is furnished with a sofabed, a double size murphy bed (that folds into the wall), a dining table seating 2-4 guests, double-glazed windows and an air conditionning unit. For entertainment, there is a TV, and a stereo.
The open kitchen looks pretty small but is actually really well fitted: there is a wooden countertop with a sink, two electric induction hotplates, a refrigerator / freezer and a microwave. It is not suitable for ambitious cooking but is definitely convenient.
The modern and white-tiled bathroom has a stall shower, a sink with mirror and toilet. A built-in closet is available off the entrance door, in the studio.
The extra bedroom has a window that looks out over the balcony and can be a single or double bedroom. It is available upon request for an additional cost.
This famous building dating from the 18th Century is located on an historic stone square with a fountain, just a stone's throw from the flowers and antique markets of the Cours Saleya. The Chateau Gardens and the Mediterranean Sea is also a few minutes walk away. This stylish "home away from home" offers everything you would possibly expect from a typical French holyday, right at your doorstep. The Old Town contains a treasure-trove of Baroque art from the 17th and 18th centuries. There are many churches among the narrow streets of this fascinating and timeless district of Nice. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés and boutiques all around. It is a very lively quarter. The closest paying parking lot is "Palais de Justice"
Nice, nestled amidst hills and tucked into the unrivalled setting of the "Baie des Anges", is famous for its liveliness and its dynamism. It is also, after Paris, the city that boasts the higher number of Museums in France; among others, the Chagall Museum and the Matisse Museum. But Nice is also a real melting pot: the city has preserved numerous traces of its eventful past and the diversity of its architecture shows how numerous were the worldwide influences. The Nice train station is served by the high-speed TGV (the "Train Grande Vitesse," only five hours from Paris). The international airport (Nice-Côte d'Azur), situated 15 minutes drive from the apartment, has been built on land reclaimed on the sea. It offers daily flights to/from New York. Otherwise most international flight connections are made through Paris. With a car, Italy is only 20-30 minutes away.
