Large 2 bedroom apartment with view over the Lez River - Montpellier Antigone
|
In one of the most impressive district of Montpellier, called Antigone, this apartment is actually in the Residence Pont-Juvénal, which is a reproduction of the Crescent of Bath made by the famous architect Ricardo Bofill in 1985. The quarter of Antigone recently became one of the most sought-after residential districts of Montpellier. Ideally located walking distance from the historical center and the Place de la Comédie, there are also many interesting amenities nearby, among others the amazing Olympic swimming pool, and the Regional Library. This apartment itself is located on the 4th French floor of the building. There is an intercom system, an elevator and a concierge. This accommodation can be rented either on a monthly basis during off-peak season, or weekly from June through September. It is suitable for 4-5 people maximum.
This 2 bedroom / 1 bathroom apartment of about 81 sqm distributes a living room with a study in the corner, a large eat-in kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a dressing room.
The living room has a large window with an amazing view over the Hotel de Region and the Lez River underneath. It is furnished with a sofa, an armchair, and a desk with a chair. There is also a TV, a large built-in closet and, in a corner of the living room, a study with another desk and a single bed. A golden frame looks like an original window, opening onto the rest of the room.
The eat-in-kitchen has many cabinets and countertops, and is fully equipped: 4 electric induction hotplates, a stove, a coffee maker, a microwave, a refrigerator/freezer, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. The dining table can accommodate 4-6 people. The kitchen has a window offering the same amazing view as the lounge, over the Esplanade de l'Europe and the Hotel de Region.
The two bedrooms are at the back of the building, facing the Library, and overlooking the Rue Poseïdon. There is also a dressing room, just at the entrance of the apartment.
The master bedroom has a window, a large built-in closet and is furnished with a double size bed, two nightstands with table lamps and a dresser.
The second bedroom is a little bit smaller and is furnished with a double bed, a desk with a chair and a built-in closet as well. The window overlooks the Library and the street as well.
The bathroom has a bathtub / shower, a sink with mirror, and toilet. For short-term rentals, on a weekly basis, bed & bath linens are provided.
The apartment has all commodities nearby: shops, stores, restaurants and cafés everything is within reach. There are many restaurants along the Lez River, in front of the Crescent. The famous Place de la Comédie is only 10-15 minutes walk away. If you have a car, you can park in the street or in the nearest parking lot, at the rear of the building. Or, the Tramway is running in the street, and stops in front of the Library and the Olympic swimming pool. If you need to go to the Train Station, the tramway can get you there in 4 minutes. For your entertainment, or for sport lovers, the brand new Olympic Public swimming pool and a large Gymnasium are just one block away, across the street. Also, a special path have been built between Antigone and the beach: there is a 10 kilometers track ideal for joggers, roller-bladders, or bicycles that gets you to the Mediterranean Sea in a short stroll. If you prefer to play tennis, there are many courts at the Zénith. By tramway you can also go to the movie theater at the Odysseum complex. There are also a Planetarium, and an ice-rink that becomes, after the sunset, a night-club !!! For those who need to study, the Public Regional Library offers many famous books, that can be read or study in the library itself or taken-out. The Faculty of Laws and Economic Sciences as well as the American Library are also nearby. A Cyber Café with access to the internet is situated 3 blocks from the Residence Pont Juvenal. The peasant market every Sundays is also nearby, Avenue Samuel Champlain. Of course there is a covered market, which is open everyday. If you wish to go the Opera, you can ask the owner. She can reserve seats for you at very interested rates (program available upon request). She may also organize guided tours in Montpellier or the surrounding area.
There are plenty of things to do and see in the region. As a matter of fact, Montpellier remains one of the most dynamic cities of the South East of France. It is the regional center and seat of the department. There you will find an unusual cosmopolitan air: department stores, and luxury shops as well as pedestrian streets in the historical quarter. Many festivals are thrown throughout the year. During the summer, and among others, a theater festival Le Printemps des Comédiens and a Dance Festival are organized. Otherwise, two opera houses host famous symphonic orchestras: the Opera Berlioz and the Opéra Comédie. The Montpellier train station is served by the famous high-speed TGV Train à Grande Vitesse- that gets you to Paris in approximately 4 hours. Montpellier has an international airport but most of the international flight connections are made through Paris-Charles de Gaulle. By car, Spain is only 2 hours away, Avignon and its famous theater festival 1 hour only and the Côte d'Azur 3 hours away. Car rentals can be picked up in Montpellier, at the train station or the airport. However, you'll get the best offers if you arrange for the rental before you leave home.
