Elegant 3 bedroom Villa with private garden - Walking distance from the harbor of Cannes
|
The 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom villa is located near the 'College International de Francais' (International School of Cannes). The beach is 3 to 5 minutes walk away. The house is on two levels (three actually, if you include the basement with the garage and the huge cellar). The house is about 127 sqm, plus 25 sqm of secluded garden, and plus 60 sqm of basement). The flooring is travertine marble. There are parking spaces in the garage. This accommodation is available for weekly rentals throughout the year and would sleep 6 people. You enter the apartment through a large hallway leading to the living room. The lounge is furnished with two sofas, and coordinated armchairs. In a corner of the living room is a small study. There is a stereo with CD player as well as a wide-screen satellite TV (Hotbird & Astra) featuring more than 1,000 channels, and a VCR. There is a telephone and a DSL connection (high-speed internet access). From the lounge a large French window opens onto a secluded garden, which can be lit up at night. There is a dining table seating four on the garden patio outside, shaded by an amazing palm tree. For cold days, there is a formal elegant dining table seating 6-8 people in the dining area inside.
The kitchen window is screened by a garden from the street. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, an electric oven, an extractor hood, a refrigerator with a separate freezer, a microwave, a toaster, an electric and an Italian espresso coffee maker and ancillary kitchen appliances and utensils
Off the kitchen, a spiral staircase leads to the bedrooms upstairs.
The master bedroom has a French window leading to the terrace that overlooks the garden. This bedroom is furnished with a double size bed, nightstands, a dressing table with a mirror, and an armchair. There is an adjoining dressing room.
The green-tiled en-suite bathroom has a sink, and a bathtub with shower.
The second bedroom has two twin beds, and a dresser. A French window overlooks the street over a narrow balcony shaded from view by a huge palm tree..
The third bedroom has also two twin beds (of course twin beds can always be joined to make a double size bed), and a window that looks onto the street.
The second bathroom has two washbasins, and a bathtub / shower. There is a separate water closet on the sdame floor. There is also a guest toilet on the first floor.
The villa is located walking distance from the beach. The harbor of Cannes is about 10-15 minutes walk away. Shops, restaurants, and cafés everything is within reach.
After W.W. II, Cannes quickly became the haunt of crowned heads and billionaires, then the city of Stars, Festivals and International Conventions. Mostly famous for its International Film Festival (in May) the town regularly hosts well-known stars in its many luxury Hotels. On La Croisette, the most famous fashion brands are represented : among others Louis Vuitton, Chanel or Hermès. Of course, restaurants and boutiques are all around. The white-sand beach across La Croisette is usually crowded but remains one of the most famous throughout the French Riviera.
The regional center and seat of the department, Nice, is 30 minutes to the east. Here, the Nice train station is served by the high-speed TGV (the "Train Grande Vitesse," only five and a half hours to Paris), and its international airport (Nice-Côte d'Azur) has daily flights from New York. Otherwise most international flight connections are made through Paris. With a car, you can range far and wide on day trips alone: Italy is only 1 hour away. Aix en Provence is 90 minutes distant.
