Guest rooms in a beautiful townhouse with terrace in the heart of Avignon

This wonderful 4-storey townhouse dating from the 18th Century is about 160 sqm. This accommodation is either available as a Bed & Breakfast or as a private furnished rental, depending on the owner's availabilities. For B&B, four lovely guest rooms with private en-suite bathroom are available: 'Cheminée', 'Palais', 'Cour', & 'Terrasse'. For Vacation Rentals, when the owner is away: the house offers 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The house is located in small one-way street of Avignon, near the Pope's Palace, the Place de l'Horloge, and the most famous shopping spots of the town. But the most spectacular amenity of this house is an amazing terrace overlooking the Pope's Palace. On the first floor (street level), the living room is furnished with a sofa, two coordinated armchairs and a large marble table seating 8. Two sets of windows look onto the street and a small square across the street. There is a beautiful fireplace. The house has been painted white throughout and terracotta tiles are on the floor, except in the bedrooms that have parquet floors. The bedroom 'Cheminée' (fireplace) is on the 2nd floor (1st French floor), on the street side and has an ancient fireplace. It has two windows facing south in the master bedroom, and another south exposed window in the smallest bedroom. 'Cheminée' is indeed a small suite, suitable for a couple and a child, or just a couple. It has two twin beds and a single bed in the smallest room. The private en-suite bathroom has a washbasin, bathtub / shower and toilet. . The bedroom 'Palais' (palace) is on the 3rd floor (2nd French floor), on the street side. It has three windows facing south and looking onto the Pope's palace - which explains the bedroom's name. 'Palais' would accommodate one adult or a couple. There is a double size bed, and a little lounge with rattan armchairs, coffee table, dresser and mirror. The private en-suite bathroom has a washbasin, bathtub / shower and toilet. The bedroom 'Cour' (backyard) is on the same floor (2nd French floor), on the backyard side. It has a small window. This room would accommodate one or two adults. There are two twin beds, two rattan armchairs, and a coffee table. The private en-suite bathroom has a washbasin, stall shower and toilet. The bedroom 'Terrace' (terrasse) is on the 4th floor (3rd French floor), on the backyard side as well. It has a small window. 'Terrace' would accommodate one adult or a couple as it has a double size bed. The private en-suite bathroom has a washbasin, stall shower and toilet. Guests have access to the living room, and to the terrace. Breakfast may be served either on the terrace when the weather is mild or in the dining room, downstairs. By the terrace is a small kitchenette with 2 electric burners, small refrigerator and microwave. Sheets, blankets, duvets, towels and kitchen towels are provided. When you rent the whole house, a private parking space can be provided, in the nearest underground parking lot (underneath the Pope's Palace). Two hours of maid service is provided once a week. Avignon -also known as the Popes' city- has a wealthy historical and artistic heritage. Its formidable stronghold Popes' Palace overlooks the wide expanse of the Rhone River plain and the encircled city. If you want to see one of the most beautiful views of Avignon and its famous uncompleted bridge, you should go the island of Barthelasse. This large island formerly was a refuge for outlaws and deserters in the past centuries. The exceptional view over the city is best admired at sunset ; many paintings and etchings have been made of it. Of course, Avignon is also famous for its summer theater festival. Restaurants, cafés and shops are everywhere. The closest expressway is the A9, exit Remoulins, 15 minutes drive away, or the A7 exit Avignon North or South. The A9 goes from the Spanish border to Orange. The A7 binds the Italian border to Lyon with connections for all major cities of the south east of France. The closest train station is at Avignon and is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes ! The closest airport is Avignon with 4 daily domestic flights from/to Paris. Most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
