Large 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom apartment in a beautiful 13th Century Property
|
This 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom apartment is located on the garden level of a beautiful landmark building dating from the 13th century. The main house sits atop the river Nizon, which still flows underneath the house all seasons long.
The apartment is in the lower part of the house, where once the old watermill house resided. It has a private entrance. There is a beautiful park of about 4 hectares. The stream that once ran the mill still crosses the property.
The accommodation has been renovated to offer modern comfort in typical Provencal style: traditional style 'chaux-painted' walls with a modern twist, beautiful antiques, fluffy towels, embroided bedspreads, linen bedding, etc.
The large living room is furnished with two sofas. There is also a play area for children as well as a little bed color. There is beautiful fireplace, a desk, a TV with VCR, and a stereo.
Across the hallway is a large and fully equipped kitchen: gas burners, refrigerator / freezer, oven, microwave coffee maker, expresso machine, kettle, toaster, and dishwasher.
The 3 bedrooms have been beautifully refurbished, and come with private stall shower bathrooms. They all have color TV.
Tenants will have access to the Parc and to the Swimming Pool, that they will eventually share with guests of the Bed & Breakfast (in the main house are 4 guest rooms). In the pool house is a laundry room with a washing machine & dryer.
At the rear of the house is a parking lot. There are resident dogs on the premises.
You will find the property in the middle of the famous vineyards of Tavel, Lirac, Côte du Rhone, and Chateauneuf du Pape. The closest village, Saint-Laurent des Arbres, is located in the Gard department, between Avignon and Uzès. This is a wine producing area and you will be able to do wine tasting session or visit authentic cellars. The dominant feature of the local landscape is its vineyards.
You are 60 km from the sea and the Regional Conservation Park of La Camargue.
The famous Pont du Gard is about a 30 minutes drive. Avignon is pretty famous for its theater festival, and Orange has a wonderful Antique theater that hosts great "chorégies" -Roman choir songs- during the summer. Nîmes also is worth a look and still have a few Roman buildings still in a great state of preservation as the "Maison Carré" -Square House.
The closest highway is the A9, exit Remoulins, 10 minutes drive away. This highway goes from the Spanish border to Orange with connections for all major cities of the south east of France. The closest train station is at Avignon, 15-20 minutes drive away, which is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes! The closest airport is Avignon or Nîmes-Garons with daily flights to / from Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports such as Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
