Neighborhood :
The apartment is just on the Port (Marina) where you will find all shops (cafes, restaurants....) but also close to the beaches. A few km away is The "Vieille Ville" (the Old City) is the old walled city. It is well preserved and lovely in its every aspect. There are public squares, parks, restaurants and beautiful views no matter where you look. The home of author Edith Wharton and her beautiful gardens are now a park open to the public free of charge just a 3 block walk from the apartment. Don't miss: Place Massillon; the Saturday market in the Grand Place; the great wine of the Var (the department of the Hyeres region); Collegiale St Paul.
Outside :
Hyeres is a charming ancient village located on the Cote d'azur in Provence. Though it boasts a beautiful port and lovely beaches, the village centre is not located directly on the water which gives the city a different feel than other nearby towns, like Le Lavandou or St Tropez.
The old, walled village in which the apartment is located is unspoiled and very much a bit of living history. The beaches and port are easily accessible just a few kilometres from the old city. Though the area has been a European tourist destination for nearly 200 years, it seems to remain resistant to chain stores, neon lit malls and many other things that mar tourist spots. Yet golf, sailing, water sports, great food and loads of other vacation activities are its trademark
Access :
Hyeres is located 21 km east from Toulon. You have access to Hyeres from Toulon, the headset of the department, through an express way. The "Toulon/Hyères Airport" is approximately 5 minutes drive away, and has daily domestic flights from/to Paris, where most international flight connections are made through. You also access to Toulon from Paris via the TGV (Train a Grande Vitesse).
