Authentic & Welcoming Mas near Saint Remy

Simple and Authentic Mas in Les Mas Blanc des Alpilles - Near Saint Remy de Provence. This four bedroom / 2 bathroom authentic old "Mas" is situated on the road leading from Saint-Rémy to Tarascon & Beaucaire. This house is available throughout the year. It is only 4km away from Saint Remy de Provence. The house can accommodate 8 people maximum. There is a guardian house by the Mas and enough parking space for several cars. Ground Floor : On this floor you will find a large living room, kitchen and a first bedroom. There are nice exposed beams. A large French door leads to the living room, which is furnished with a sofa, armchairs a coffee table. There is a majestic fireplace. At the back of this lounge is the dining area, with a large dining table and a cupboard. There is a satellite TV. The separate eat-in-kitchen has all appliances. It is equipped with a stove, 3 gas and 1 electric burner, a microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster, a refrigerator / freezer and a dishwasher. There is a round dining table and a lovely fireplace. The only bedroom on this floor is very spacious and has a south exposed bay window. It is furnished with a double bed, a single bed and a convertible sofa bed. There is a bathroom with a double washbasin, a stall shower and a toilet. There is a laundry room. Second Floor : A stone staircase leads to the second floor where you will find 3 bedrooms. The first bedroom is south exposed and furnished with a double bed, a wardrobe and a sofa. There is an en-suite toilet cabinet with a washbasin. The second bedroom is west exposed and is furnished with a double bed, round table desk and a chest of drawers (view onto the pool). The third bedroom is a little smaller (also west exposed) and has a double bed with bed-side tables and a chest of drawers. The large shares bathroom has a bathtub, a washbasin with mirror and toilet. Outside : You will enjoy the large garden planted with trees and lawn, with nice views onto the countryside and "Les Alpilles". Some garden furniture is available. There is a large (12Mx6M) swimming pool with pool house and deck chairs. Neighbourhood : ============ The Hamlet of "Le Mas Blanc des Alpilles" is only a few minutes away. There, you will find a backery and grocery store as well as a restaurant. Two bicycles our at the guest s disposal. A maid service can be available upon request (arrangements must be made in advance). The property is situated 4 minutes drive away from Saint-Rémy de Provence and 30 minutes drive from Avignon. You can rent bicycles in Saint-Rémy at "Ferri Location" (route de Cavaillon) or discover the Alpilles horseback riding. An equestrian center in Saint-Rémy organizes tours during summertime. The local market of Saint-Rémy is on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the main street going all around the village. The famous ruins of Glanum are nearby : an archeological site from the first century before Christ. It's definitely worth a look. For paintings lovers, the hospital where Vincent Van Gogh stayed (Cloître Saint-Paul) is also a good excursion for the day. You may even recognize one of the landscapes he drew while he was there. Access : ======= The closest motorway is the A7, exit Cavaillon, 20 minutes drive away. This highway goes from Lyon to Marseille with connections for all major cities of the south east of France. The closest train station is at Avignon and is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes ! The closest airport is Avignon as well with daily flights to Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
