Studio in the heart of St Rémy de Provence
|
The studio is located in the heart of Saint-Rémy, in a quiet street near the church.
You enter the studio by a French door. It is furnished with a double bed, 2 armchairs, a coffee table, a dining table seating 2, a cupboard and a built-in closet.
It is equipped with a stereo.
The open kitchen is equipped with most of the necessary utensils. It has a sink, an oven, 2 electric hotplates, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, a toaster and an electric kettle.
The studio is also equipped with a washing machine.
In the bathroom, you will find a tub, a washbasin and a toilet.
Neighborhood:
Saint-Rémy de Provence is just by the mountain range called 'Alpilles'. Within their surroundings, the Alpilles chain of mountains forms both a striking and a harmonious picture. It is also the landscape of famous painters such as Van Gogh, Cézanne and Matisse who came here to capture the extraordinary light and color of the region.
You can rent bicycles in Saint-Rémy at "Ferri Location" (route de Cavaillon) or discover the Alpilles horseback riding. An equestrian center in Saint-Rémy organizes tours during summertime. It is also a rich agricultural area with rolling plains of fruit orchards, olives groves and all variety of Mediterranean vegetables. It is alive with the sound of chirping 'cigales' and the intoxicating aromas of multitude of wild herbs. The local market of Saint-Rémy is on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the main street going all around the village. This area is the 'Provence of the Rhone' and has a strong Roman heritage. The famous ruins of Glanum are nearby: an archeological site from the first century BC.
Avignon & Arles are 30 minutes distant, and Aix 45 minutes distant.
Access:
The closest highway is the A7, exit Cavaillon, 20 minutes drive away, that goes from Lyon to Marseille with connections for all major cities of the south east of France.
The closest train station is at Avignon and is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes!
The closest airport is Avignon as well with daily flights to Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
