|
This comfortable one bedroom apartment is located on the ground floor of a lovely 18th Century Hotel Particulier with private courtyard and security access in the heart of the historical centre of Avignon, a few steps from the Palais des Papes.
You enter the apartment through a large entrance hall. The living space is furnished with a single sofa bed, a rectangle dining table and two bookshelves. A TV with foreign channels and DSL internet access are available.

The bedroom has a double bed, two wardrobes, a chest of drawers and a small desk. There is a window opening onto the quiet street.
The bathroom has a washbasin, a stall-shower and a toilet.
A private parking space is available in front of the apartment (great amenity as the apartment is in the heart of Avignon where parking is sometimes difficult).
The apartment is located a few blocks from the Palais des Papes. The train station of Avignon centre is within reasonable walking distance.
Restaurants, cafés and shops are everywhere.Avignon -also known as the Popes' city- has a wealthy historical and artistic heritage. Its formidable stronghold Popes' Palace overlooks the wide expanse of the Rhone River plain and the encircled city. If you want to see one of the most beautiful views of Avignon and its famous uncompleted bridge, you should go the island of Barthelasse. This large island formerly was a refuge for outlaws and deserters in the past centuries. The exceptional view over the city is best admired at sunset; many paintings and etchings have been made of it.
The closest expressway is the A9, exit Remoulins, 15 minutes drive away, or the A7 exit Avignon North or South. The A9 goes from the Spanish border to Orange. The A7 binds the Italian border to Lyon with connections for all major cities of the south east of France. Avignon train station is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes! The closest airport is in Avignon as well with 4 daily domestic flights from/to Paris. Most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
