Elegant 2 Bedroom Apartment in Nice Center - Place Garibaldi

This two bedroom apartment of approximately 50 sqm is located on Place Garibaldi. This amazing Place Garibaldi (square) is the link between the old town and the Port de Nice. Therefore everything is within short walking distance : the famous daily food market on Cours Saleya, the National Theatre and Museum of Modern Arts and the Promenade des Anglais. You access the residence via a private courtyard with security access. You enter the building after crossing the peaceful courtyard. The apartment is on the 2nd walk-up floor of an antique building. The flat is tastefully decorated and was recently refurbished. The living room / kitchen is furnished with a round dining table and a cupboard. The kitchen has all amenities: 4 vitro-ceramic hotplates, electric oven, small dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, electric kettle and toaster and washing machine. There is a window overlooking a quiet courtyard. The first bedroom is furnished with a king size bed and chest of drawers. There is a built-in closet.. There is a window opening onto a quiet courtyard. The second bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds and a chest of drawers. It is equipped with a TV and a DVD player. The modern bathroom has a washbasin, a stall with shower with hydro-massage device and a toilet. The flat has very good light as opposed to many of the old town apartments where most streets are narrow. Outside : Bakery, butchery within a block, Cours Saleya market less than 8 mn away (vegetable and flowers everyday except on Monday: Antics and Flea). Your are within short distance of both Nice old town but also the Port de Nice. The tramway runs onto the Place Garibaldi so there is a stop just 2 minutes walk from the apartment. Direct access from the airport with shuttle. Nice - Gare Routière (bus transportation outside Nice) is also a few steps from the apartment. The Place Garibaldi was built between 1782 and 1784 and was formerly named Piazza Vittorio. The wonderful Baroque architecture of the Square dates from when Nice still belonged to the House of Savoy and at this time Place Garibaldi was the grand entrance to the town on the Royal Road from Turin which was the capital of the Royal House of Savoy. It has been a popular meeting point throughout the centuries and although recent years have seen its beauty fade, it has just undergone huge regeneration and has now again become the stunning centerpiece it deserves to be. The Old Town contains a treasure-trove of Baroque art from the 17th and 18th centuries. There are many churches among the narrow streets of this fascinating and timeless district of Nice. The apartment is located near the Cours Saleya where every morning you'll find a Provencal market (with fruits, vegetables and flowers). On Mondays, Antique dealers are selling rare pieces of furniture. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés and boutiques all around. It is a very lively district, just a stone's throw from the beach. Nice, nestled amidst hills and tucked into the unrivalled setting of the "Baie des Anges", is famous for its liveliness and its dynamism. It is also, after Paris, the city that boasts the higher number of Museums in France ; among others, the Chagall Museum and the Matisse Museum. But Nice is also a real melting pot : the city has preserved numerous traces of its eventful past and the diversity of its architecture shows how numerous were the worldwide influences. Do not miss the Carnival at the very beginning of February ! The Nice train station is served by the high-speed TGV (the "Train Grande Vitesse," only five hours from Paris). The international airport (Nice-Côte d'Azur), situated 15 minutes drive from the apartment, has been built on land reclaimed on the sea. It offers daily flights to/from New York. Otherwise most international flight connections are made through Paris. With a car, Italy is only 20-30 minutes away.
