(5:22)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Bow Bridge:<br \/>\n<\/strong>There are 36 bridges in Central Park, and not one of them is alike.\u00a0 Bow Bridge is one of the most photographed and filmed locations in Central Park.\u00a0 Completed in 1862, it is constructed of cast iron.\u00a0 It offers a fantastic view of the Lake and you can wave at boat riders as the pass under the bridge.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Ramble:<br \/>\n<\/strong>We\u2019re entering Central Park\u2019s forest.\u00a0 It\u2019s hard to believe that this is not a natural forest, but rather was hand-planted 150 years ago.\u00a0 Today it has grown into a mature forest ready to be explored.<\/p>\n<div class=\"img alignright size-medium wp-image-3261\" style='width:300px;'>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyhabitat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/central_park.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.nyhabitat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/central_park-300x218.jpg\" alt=\"Central Park\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" \/><\/a>\n\t<div>Central Park<\/div>\n<\/div><strong>Strawberry Fields:<\/strong> \u2013 <a title=\"New York Upper West Side Travel tips\" href=\"\/blog\/category\/new-york\/new-york-travel-guide\/new-york-neighborhoods\/upper-west-side\/\">Upper West Side<\/a> between 71st and 74th Streets<br \/>\nWe\u2019re at Strawberry Fields.\u00a0 Just across the street is the Dakota Apartment Building where John Lennon was shot in December 1980.\u00a0 After Lennon\u2019s death, Yoko Ono donated money to have this small corner of the park dedicated in his honor.\u00a0 It\u2019s one of the more popular spots in the park, so you\u2019ll want to come pay a visit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Belvedere Castle:<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0Mid-Park at 79th Street<br \/>\nPerhaps the most magical monument in Central Park, the Belvedere Castle provides a panoramic view in almost every direction.\u00a0 You\u2019ll get great views of the Delacorte Theater, the recently restored, 55-acre Great Lawn and Turtle Pond.<\/p>\n<p><strong><!--more-->Delacorte Theatre:<\/strong> &#8211; Mid-Park at 80th Street<br \/>\nThe Delacorte Theatre is the summer home of the annual Shakespeare in the Park production.\u00a0 Home to the very popular Shakespeare in the Park series, thousands of theatre lovers come here every year.<\/p>\n<p>The next best thing to being in Central Park is living near Central Park.\u00a0 For your next trip to <a title=\"New York Travel Guide\" href=\"\/blog\/category\/new-york\/\">New York<\/a>, consider renting one of our many apartments found around the Park. For example, think about an <a title=\"New York Upper West Side accommodations\" href=\"\/new-york-apartment\/vacation\/manhattan\/upper-west-side\">accommodation in the Upper West Side<\/a> or an <a title=\"Apartment rentals in the Upper East Side, NY\" href=\"\/new-york-apartment\/furnished\/manhattan\/upper-east-side\">apartment in the Upper East Side<\/a>. \u00a0You\u2019ll have quick access for an early morning stroll through the Park or prepare a lunch in your fully equipped kitchen for a mid-day picnic.<\/p>\n<p>A great apartment just a stone\u2019s throw from Central Park is this beautiful <a title=\"New York: 2 Bedroom apartment in Upper West Side (NY-1313)\" href=\"\/new-york-apartment\/furnished\/1313\">two bedroom accommodation located in an Upper\u00a0West Side building with roof terrace (NY-1313)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019d like to be near the park, consider this <a title=\"New York Accommodation: Studio in the Upper West Side (NY-14876\" href=\"\/new-york-apartment\/furnished\/14876\">Upper West Side furnished rental studio \u00a0(NY-14876)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summerstage:<br \/>\n<\/strong>I\u2019ve mentioned this before in other videos, but it\u2019s worth repeating, one of the best summer events in New York is a string of free concerts from June through August.\u00a0 The event is called Summerstage and it\u2019s held in the heart of Central Park.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Great Lawn:<\/strong> &#8211; Mid-Park from 79th to 85th Street<br \/>\nThis area is called the Great Lawn.\u00a0 It\u2019s another one of my favorite parts of Central Park.\u00a0 The New York Philharmonic gives two free performances here every year.\u00a0 There are 8 permanent baseball fields.\u00a0 You\u2019ll find kite flyers, sunbathers, book readers and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Turtle Pond:<\/strong> \u2013 Mid-Park between 79th and 80th Streets<br \/>\nWhat\u2019s nice about Turtle Pond, besides all the turtles, is that this area is a designated quiet zone \u2013 making it a great place to relax, read or take a quick nap!\u00a0 And come on, who doesn\u2019t like turtles!?<\/p>\n<div class=\"img size-full wp-image-3262 alignleft\" style='width:275px;'>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyhabitat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/central_park21.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.nyhabitat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/central_park21.jpg\" alt=\"Central Park Photo\" width=\"275\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a>\n\t<div>Central Park Photo<\/div>\n<\/div><strong>The Obelisk:<\/strong> -East Side Drive at 81st Street<br \/>\nThe Obelisk, or Cleopatra&#8217;s Needle, is the oldest public monument in North America.\u00a0 Installed in 1881 it was a gift from the Egyptian government.
