Whether you’re in New York City<\/a> for business or pleasure, you’re probably already familiar with the Javits Center. Located on Eleventh Avenue on Manhattan’s West Side between the neighborhoods of Chelsea<\/a> and Midtown West<\/a>, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center was designed by world renowned architect I.M. Pei and features over 675,000 square feet of exhibit space. Home to popular shows like the New York International Auto Show and Art Expo, the Javits Center is close in proximity to some of New York’s best known tourist attractions including the Empire State Building and the Chelsea Piers.<\/p>\n

While the Javits Center hosts a slew of events that are open to the public, there are a select few shows a year that are trade only, meaning for vendors, buyers and other professionals. August 15 through the 20th sees one of the most exciting trade-only events hosted at the Javits Center – the New York International Gift Fair<\/strong>. Occurring twice a year, the NYIGF attracts over 30,000 buyers from all 50 states and 77 countries and features 2,900 exhibitors showcasing products from all the best lines in home, lifestyle and gifts. From tabletop and housewares, decorative and personal accessories, museum gifts, crafts, specialty foods and ultra high-end modern furniture – the NYIGF really has all of the bases covered.<\/p>\n

Special attractions at the NYIGF include a special SustainAbility display<\/strong> which highlights companies whose business practices are socially responsible and fair-trade oriented, as well as suppliers whose products or production processes are eco-friendly. Additionally, this year’s show will feature A+\u2122, The Young Designers’ Platform<\/strong> which showcases new designers and product innovations and\u00a0STUDIO\u2122<\/strong> which will showcase a variety of trend-driven lifestyle merchandise including all the latest in pet, home d\u00e9cor and baby gear.<\/p>\n
