In its place is a towering spire, enormous roundabout (the Place de la Bastille), and the shimmering facade of the Opera Bastille.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Thanks to several renovation projects, the grit of the neighborhood has been scrubbed clean.
