In many ways, Andy Warhol is the biggest visual art icon<\/strong> since the Second World War. Warhol\u2019s brash embrace of commercialism and celebrity has been reproduced, repackaged and resold countless times since his death in the late 80s. As a result, Warhol\u2019s style and individual masterpieces have become some of the world\u2019s most recognizable visual art images.<\/p>\n

This summer in Prospect Heights,\u00a0Brooklyn<\/a>, The Brooklyn Museum will pay homage to the great modern artist with a special exhibit examining the final 10 years of Warhol\u2019s life. The summer exhibit entitled Andy Warhol: The Last Decade<\/strong> is the first major American museum to examine the artist\u2019s last ten years of work in a dedicated exhibit. The Last Decade brings together an impressive array of original works all completed by the late artist in the ten years leading up to his death. Andy Warhol: The Last Decade examines a period of experimentation for the great modern artists with some 50 original works<\/strong>. The exhibit reveals the influence of his late collaborations with other New York artists of the day including Keith Herring and Jean Michel Basquiat.
