It is located right in between the neighborhoods of Midtown West and Midtown East.

Bryant Park is now home to an endless program of author readings, film screenings, concerts and performances. And let’s not forget about the hundreds of office workers, tourists and passers-by that stop to eat lunch, read a book or just chill out on the park’s manicured green grass. For such a small space, the amount of programming is staggering. We’ve gushed about the park before, but the park’s transformation into a free cultural venue has made it an absolute must-see for any out-of-towners in the city.

This summer, the folks at Bryant Park have outdone themselves. Each Thursday, for the rest of the summer, Broadway’s biggest stars will take the main stage at Bryant Park during the lunch hour for performances worthy of, well, a Broadway stage. Among the performances will be the cast of the long-running Broadway favorites Chicago and the Phantom of the Opera while relative new-comers such as the casts of Billy Elliot, South Pacific and In the Heights will also share the Bryant Park stage. Even the cast of the smash hit Fela! will migrate from the stage of a Broadway theater to the open-air stage of New York City. Many of the shows invited for the Bryant Park performances are tough tickets, with some sold out for months. Here in Bryant Park, they are all free and open to the public. The last Broadway on Bryant Park performance is scheduled for August 12. You can catch performances every Thursday at 12:30 until that date.

New York Habitat still has many apartments available both on, and off, Broadway this summer.
