2 Bedroom Apartment Rental in Earls Court, South Kensington (LN-87)
2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 3

Welcome to central London! This period walk-up building is located on Coleherne Road between Old Brompton Road and Redcliffe Square in the borough of Earl’s Court. The boroughs of West Kensington, South Kensington, and Knightsbridge are all within easy reach from here. The building is protected by a security system; this 2nd floor (3rd in US) apartment itself has an audio intercom system as well.

This two bedroom London apartment is fully furnished and comes in at a spacious 80 square meters (861 square feet) across a living area, dining room, the aforementioned two bedrooms, a separate kitchen, and one full bathroom. In the living area, you can relax and unwind among the working (gas-operated) fireplace and sofa; the sofa itself can convert to a double bed, should you need the extra sleeping space. There is also a dining table with seating for six. The separate kitchen is well-equipped to meet your meal preparation needs, with an electric oven, gas range, refrigerator, a washer/dryer for your laundry needs, and even a toaster. The master bedroom has a double bed, while the second bedroom has a single trundle bed; both bedrooms have built-in cupboards for your convenience. The bathroom is equipped with a bath and shower. If you happen to visit the area in the winter, there is gas central heating to keep you nice and warm during those cooler months, should you need it.

The borough of Earls Court is central to London and easily accessible via a variety of transport options; the underground station (subway) of Earl’s Court itself is only a half a kilometer (0.3 miles) or so to the north up Earl’s Court Road; the West Brompton station is about the same distance away to the west, giving you several options. There are also several bus stops within a one-street radius of this apartment. Earls Court is well known for its two major exhibition centers; the Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre is just down the road, about 0.5 km/0.3 miles to the west, and the Olympia Centre is a bit further to the north, about 1.6 km/1 mile away from this apartment. If you’re ready to see the sights of London, there’s plenty to do nearby before you hit the underground tube stations or bus stops (Earl's Court and Fulham Broadway are closest)!

If you’re in the mood for some museums, there’s three only 3.2 km (2 miles) away to the northeast – the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, and the Victoria & Albert Museum. These museums are right next to the Imperial College, which itself borders on the huge green spaces of Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park, where kings used to get their royal hunt on. The park is about 2.9 km/1.8 miles from this apartment, and is huge – it’s about 2.25 km/1.4 miles wide! For local delicacies, you’d have to look no further than Old Brompton Road, just one street up and no more than a minute’s walk or so to the north; there are eight restaurants alone within a one-street radius of that intersection. There are also plenty of shops up and down Old Brompton Road, and you can always take s trip over to the famous Harrods department store, about 2.9 km/1.8 miles away to the west. This two bedroom London apartment is close to just about everything and is sure to be an oasis of relaxation for your stay.

Apartment Rental: 3 months

Good location, nice exterior, great layout of the rooms, nice flooring, stairwell is worn, several household appliances do not work, toilet flusher could be improved upon, hot water heater gave out towards the end of the stay - after that, there was no more warm water or heat for several weeks in the winter, furniture is old, broken and sort-of random mix and match, the windows' insulation is weak, sound proofing could be better: the neighbor can easily be heard (and understood) through the ceiling. Our contact at NY Habitat was helpful.

Thank you for your detailed review. I would like to address some key issues that you have raised regarding the apartment. On check-out you
informed us of a problem with the washing machine. We have since drained the machine and discovered that the filter was blocked. Since then this has
functioned perfectly well through numerous cycles. You also pointed out that the kettle no longer worked. I appreciate that certain household items
do have a shelf life. This was functioning when you arrived but was not working at check-out. It has now been replaced.
The toilet flush has 2 elements. The bathroom itself was completely renovated in 2012 and there is a dual flush function to allow for water
saving. The boiler has been repaired since the pump gave out. I am surprised that you mention that several weeks went by. We were in contact throughout the problem and we instructed an engineer to visit. He was unable to fix the problem on the same day as a replacement part was required. Fortunately he was able to locate the part and the boiler was fixed 4 days later. I am disappointed that your review suggests that you had to spend several weeks in the winter with no water or heating. We also paid for 2 new heaters to keep you warm during the days without heating. We are extremely sorry for this inconvenience.
With regard to the old furniture there are several antique items in the property. The two armchairs will now be replaced due to wear to the edge of
the seat. We will be providing more modern armchairs. Thank you for bringing my attention to the broken bed. Unfortunately we
will have to charge for the breakage as this is a new bed.
There is modern sound proofing in the floor above and below the property but this is a Victorian (1800s) building and the added insulation is not as
efficient as modern buildings. Similarly with the windows these are period features and are single glazed rather than double glazed.
We fully appreciate your review of the property and we would like to reiterate that we made every effort to ensure there were no problems during
your stay and have rectified any problems that were not raised with us until after your departure.
