This one bedroom apartment is located in the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan, New York. It is on the ground floor of a walk-up brownstone from the 1920’s with a buzzer /color-video intercom system securing the entrance. The apartment has a northern exposure and during your stay, you’ll conveniently have access to WiFi internet and an in-unit washer & dryer.
The air-conditioned unit is lined with hardwood floors and features some exposed brick walls. Several windows offer views toward the front street and private backyard; skylights in the living room and bathroom allow in even more natural light. The living area has a beautiful decorative fireplace and is furnished with a double futon and double sofa bed. There is a wall-mounted 55” (140 cm) flat-screen television with cable programming and storage space in a closet. The open kitchen has tiled floors, wooden cabinetry, and granite countertops. It is equipped with stainless steel appliances, including a digital state-of-the-art refrigerator. Next to it is a dining table for four, where you can enjoy your meals as you watch TV. The bedroom has an in-built closet, a second decorative fireplace, and a queen-size bed. The adjacent bathroom has marble-tiled walls and contains a toilet, washbasin, mirrored medicine cabinet, and jacuzzi tub.
The one bedroom apartment is situated on West 119th Street & Lenox Avenue, a very centric location within the Harlem neighborhood, which will put you within easy reach of many of Manhattan’s popular attractions. Central Park is just 10 blocks south and is a great spot for outdoor sports like softball, biking, skating, and fishing. Even closer (4 blocks) is the Malcolm Shabazz market, where you can find unique handcrafted goods that will make great gifts when you head back home! The Columbia University campus is about 6 blocks west—it borders Riverside Park, which offers amazing waterfront views of the Hudson River. Grab a bite at one of the numerous tasty restaurants in the area, like Sylvia’s (8 blocks north), known as the “Queen of Soul Food”, or Red Rooster (right across from it), which serves American comfort food. Adjacent neighborhoods include Morningside Heights, Upper East & Upper West Side, and East (Spanish) Harlem.
