Make your home in South Williamsburg in this gorgeously renovated brownstone apartment! This fully furnished one bedroom rental is spread over the building's top two floors and includes an extra room used as a sleeping alcove, as well as a private rooftop terrace.
Carefully renovated, this one bedroom retains much of its original charm with hardwood floors and embossed tin ceilings painted white to keep the space bright. Beautiful wooden staircases with dark wood railings will take you from the entrance on the first floor to the second floor, which is considered the lower level of the duplex. Here you have the bedroom, as well as the sleeping alcove (labeled Living Room 3 in the photos and bedroom 2 on the floorplan). The bedroom is equipped with a full sized bed and hanging lighting. A matching vanity and armoire set compliment the yellow walls and the mirrors expand the room. The sleeping alcove has two matching single size beds and a large armoire for storage.
Upstairs on the top and 3rd floor are the apartment's common rooms: a large open living room, a dining area, the kitchen, a bathroom and, best of all for some, the private terrace. The combination of antique and contemporary is continues here, with a turquoise accent wall to set off the lovely wood colors. You have a comfortable sitting area facing a large flat screen television in the living room, and a long table that can seat up to eight persons in the dining area near the stairs! The kitchen has subway-style tiles and stainless steel appliances. Though there is no conventional oven, there is a portable gas burner and grill. The door to the outdoor terrace is situated at this end of the building, a fenced-in area equipped with a large table should you decide to enjoy your meal outdoors.
This brownstone duplex is situated near South 3rd Street and Berry Street, in the coveted neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Just one subway stop from Manhattan, this area is popular with families and young people alike, and has a mix of residential streets and commercial ones, offering a range of activities to please all types of people. Just two blocks west, you have the East River waterfront, offering spectacular views of the famous Manhattan skyline, a truly breathtaking sight at night. Check out the Grand Ferry Park, a little-known spot with benches shaded by trees just off of Kent Street at the end of Grand Street. You also have the Williamsburg Bridge a few blocks south, which is open to pedestrians and bikers and will take you to the Lower East Side. This area is also becoming a culinary hotspot, with two of Brooklyn's four Michelin-starred restaurants, Dressler and Peter Luger both within a 5 block walk, and many other new eateries opening each season. If live music is your thing, check out one of the many venues in the warehouses along the waterfront, or even the East River State Park, which hosts free and ticketed shows each summer. Of course, you cannot mention Williamsburg without mentioning Bedford Avenue, the neighborhood's main thoroughfare, lined with bars and boutiques, literally just one block from this apartment!
For getting out of the area, you are well situated between two subway stations: the L line at Bedford Avenue and North 7th and the J/M/Z trains at Marcy Avenue and Broadway. Both will take you to Manhattan in one stop only or further into Brooklyn if you prefer checking out some of the other great neighborhoods that this borough has to offer!

My experience with NY Habitat was great, the agent that handled my rental was great, his name was Nicholas. He answered all questions that I had including giving some experiential advice when I had a question in regards to the building owner that I was renting from. |
