Completely renovated, lined with hardwood floors and equipped with stainless steel appliances, this fully furnished apartment in Harlem has everything you might need for your stay in New York City! The apartment occupies the ground floor of a 4-story (equivalent to the European 3-story) red brick building in the central part of Harlem. As a resident of this apartment, you will have private access to the 1000 sqf garden (about 93 SQM), the perfect place to enjoy a drink or a meal on a sunny day!
The hardwood floors on the ground floor give this apartment a luxurious appearance and perfectly harmonize with the wood furnishings. The living room features two windows, a dining table seating six and a sofa. The open space between the kitchen and the living area will give you a sense of larger space and allows for you to chat with your family or guests while cooking. The stainless steel appliances in the kitchen are not only easier to clean, but also perfectly balance the wood fittings and floors, which complement the kitchen. Here you will find all the necessities to prepare your meals at home as well as a full range of wall units for storage. The two bedrooms on the ground floor benefit from a southern exposure with a view on the garden. They both feature double beds and a closet, and bedroom #2 gives a direct access to the garden area. The modern bathroom is tiled and has a bathtub / shower, sink and W/C.
This two bedroom is located at 126th Street and Lenox Avenue, in the central part of the iconic neighborhood of Harlem. Going outside you will find yourself on a charming residential street lined with trees and other brownstones and prewar buildings. Two of Harlem's main thoroughfare, 125th Street and Lenox Avenue, are conveniently only a block away! On 125th Street you will find big chain stores such as American Apparel, H&M, the Body Shop or Old Navy, but also stores represent the unique Harlem character, such as the Hip Hop boutique Jimmy Jazz. To immerse yourself into Harlem's culture, walk 0.3 miles (480 meters) west to the Studio Museum in Harlem or the National Jazz Museum, catch a show at The Apollo Theater, the launching point for many renowned entertainers, and have dinner at one of Harlem's many soul food restaurants. The two most renowned are Sylvia’s Restaurant and Red Rooster, both located right across the street from your apartment on Lenox Avenue (500 feet / 150 m away). Sylvia's has served many famous faces such as President Barack Obama and Caroline Kennedy!
When people think of Central Harlem, the words “gospel” comes to mind, so take advantage of living in this neighborhood to enjoy Gospel music at one of Harlem's many churches such as the Abyssinian Baptist Church on West 136th Street. And for a place to relax with your family or friends, spreading a blanket or sheet down for a picnic is a wonderful way to enjoy Central Park, located less than a mile away (1.6 km).
From this location it is very easy to get to downtown Manhattan. Just take the 2 or 3 line at the 125 Street / Lenox Avenue station. They run all the way to lower Manhattan and even Brooklyn, through the Upper West Side, Times Square, the trendy Chelsea, the vibrant Greenwich Village and the Financial District! If you need to go to the east side of Manhattan, take the 4, 5 or 6 trains at 125 Street / Lexington Avenue station. The 4 and 5 trains offer express service and will take you to Grand Central Terminal in as few as 3 stops! New York is all yours to explore!

We LOVED this place! It was the perfect way to get into the Harlem spirit! The backyard was a gem. Well kept, quiet and spacious! We spent hours there. On Sunday mornings we could hear the gospel singers from the churches that surrounded us. The owner is great. Always helpful, always friendly, and so relaxed! This part of Harlem is booming, with amazing restaurants with outdoor terraces, and friendly staff and crowd. Also so close to the express trains. We recommend it to everyone! We will DEFINITELY come back soon!! |
