This is a one bedroom apartment with an additional sleeping alcove located in Kensington, Brooklyn, New York. Set in a classic prewar townhouse on East 3rd Street & Ditmas Avenue, this is in the Kensington & Parkville area of Brooklyn, NYC.

The contemporary accommodation sits on the 1st floor (considered ground in Europe) of a two-story walk-up townhouse with a buzzer security system. It includes wood flooring and dark wood accessories. Each wall is trimmed with white molding. Windows in most rooms allow convenient ventilation.

In Bedroom 1 three tall windows brighten the space, presenting a fresh environment. One queen-sized bed is supplied. Also included are dresser drawers, various chairs, and air conditioning for hot summer days.

What is labeled Living Room 2 acts as a sleeping alcove, situated between the main bedroom and the living room. This room does not include windows. Here, a full-sized futon accommodates sleeping and seating space. One closet accommodates item storage. An overhead ceiling fan with lamp provides illumination.

The main living room of the apartment (Living Room 1) provides a sofa. Contemporary floor lamps illuminate the space. A small square dining table with four chairs accommodates meal space, situated next to two ample windows. Closet space allows maximum item storage.

An open kitchen provides most cooking appliances needed for home-cooked meals. Stainless steel pots and pans are available. A window allows easy ventilation. The tiled bathroom includes a full-sized tub/shower with curtains.

Please note that the neighborhood can be noisy at times.

Wonderful place! This apartment made my stay in New York so much more comfortable! My landlord was always available and very knowledge about the area!

I gave 1 out of 5 for the apartment experience for the hard time I had with the land lord.
The land lord was not friendly, not flexible, and very hard to deal with.
The land lord did not have tolerance for discussion at time of conflicts between me and her.
I left the apartment 2 weeks earlier than the check out date and lost the rent money for those 2 weeks because my family couldn't tolerate staying in the same building with the landlord.
The land lord charged me for a broken can opener that was broken when I rented the apartment.
Although the can opener is not expensive, that was not fair.

The oven is old, does not have a broiler; the TV has bad signals from local channels most of the times

Furthermore, there was loud noise every weekend night *continue sometimes until after 11) from the neighbors.

Dear Fahed,

I am very friendly and polite to all my rentals and never had a bad review.

I provided the necessary items for rental. My house is always in tip top condition because I make it my business to have it that way.

When I returned your deposit you asked me to hold it for an additional
week until your departure which I did. I gave you a detail list and proof of all the deductions and
mailed it to the location you provided.

The stove may be old but all ovens have a broiler. It was very clean as always and workable.

I can't be in charge of any noises coming from outdoors of normal life in the neighborhood.

Apartment Rental: 1 month

I stayed about one month in this apartment with my brother. we moved from Chicago to New York to study. Since we were new in New York, We rented via NY Habitat the apartment till we found a long term apartment to stay in for the next 1-2 years. Because it is cheaper than if we rented for a month in a hotel. Generally, it was a good experience.

since my bedroom was by the street, it was loudly to me.
the sleeping area was too small, so my brother preferred to sleep in the living room.
Location is great because it is in a very safe area and about two blocks to F train.
It was a clean apartment till we saw a big roach in my bedroom. We rarely see small roaches in the bathroom.
sheets and even soap and some toilet papers was found in the apartment. How ever, when we requested plastic bags for garbage and garbage-basket for the bedroom and laundry basket, it was not available. laundry is not available too. we needed to go to the laundromat and I think this is normal in NY.

In an unexpected cold day, we asked for heat, but it was not available before Oct 15 as owner said.

Owner: Generally, she was nice with us. She give us 2-3 tours around the neighborhood, we knew where we can by food or go to have fun.
although she was upset from us when we came because we didn't pay anything till we arrived. Actually we didn't know that.
In the check out, she told me that we should have washed our sheets before we leave because she usually doesn't do laundry for them but tenants do. I actually was a little surprised because we paid a separate cleaning fee.
Also, she said that we didn't do garbage correctly the whole month, although we did exactly what she told us from the first day. we also put them in a plastic bags, but she said we should have bought white plastic bags!
One day she cooked for us a dish of food, that was nice!

Thank you for your feedback, Alaa. I enjoyed showing you and your brother around the neighborhood and going grocery shopping with you. You are correct, it is very important to read the contract carefully, as the extension rate was stated in the contract you signed. I'm sorry you were not completely satisfied with your stay. I really value cleanliness, so I had an exterminator come to make sure there were no bugs.

The additional contract I provided, which was signed by both you and your brother specifically stated "small plastic bags are not allowed to be substituted for garbage bags." I include an entire section in the rental contract pertaining to garbage collection because the city won't take garbage not thrown away properly. The garbage collectors also give me hefty fines when garbage is not placed out properly. This is why I was very clear in the contract signed prior to your rental regarding the garbage collection policies.

Also, with regards to laundry not being available on site, the contract you signed specifically states that there is no washing machine or clothing dryer on the premise. I'm sorry you were not expecting this. Additionally, I change the curtains for each season, and I'm glad you enjoyed that. You're right, there are a lot of children in this neighborhood, so it can be a little noisy sometimes. I'm glad you enjoyed the meal I cooked for you and your brother. Thanks for the feedback!
