The apartment is REALLY spacious. For the price, you aren't going to find a two-floor brownstone unit in Harlem (or near Columbia for that matter). The landlord was really friendly and super responsive to any issues we were having and plan to stay here again in the future.

The landlord was nice and accommodating, especially considering the covid pandemic. Overall, the apartment was great and I loved living there. It was very big and roomy and extremely convenient. Neighbors were very friendly.

The backyard was filled with shards of glass. It was very odd and very dangerous. No indication that the entire backyard was literally filled broken pieces of glass may have effected by decision on whether to rent this unit especially since I have a small child. The washer machine in this unit was never fixed. Although a washing machine was listed as an amenity, it never was available to use. However, the landlord allowed me to deduct the cost of the wash and delivery service from my rent. Still, I thought I would have my own washer and dryer. Many times the landlord had to enter my apartment to get to another apartment for repairs or misplaced keys, etc. It was only a slight inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless. There is an inside door that directly leads to a studio apartment. This inside door cannot be locked because of fire hazards. Tenants are told not to every open the inside door that leads to the other apartment. This unlocked inside door was not a problem, but I was very uncomfortable and a little scared staying there at first. I would have liked to have been informed about this unlocked door that leads to a short term rental studio rented periodically by various tenants before I signed the contract. It may have effected my decision. The heat in the unit was not very good. Only a few wall heaters that didn't work very well. The landlord also provided a small space heater. Still, I did not freeze, but the temperature inside the unit during the winter was between 65-70 degrees. I wore sweaters and long johns.
