Helena was attentive, accommodating, always keeping things clean, and very nice! I stayed here for about 9 months to go to school (moved elsewhere to be with my significant other afterwards) and couldn?t have asked for a better place to start out my NYC journey. Astoria is a wonderful place--super close to the trains to go into Manhattan which is a big plus! Extremely convenient, great price, great location. I highly suggest this apartment!

I planned to stay at this place for 6 months, but already moved out after 2,5 months. I didn't feel comfortable with the roommate and felt like I am renting a hostel room rather than an own room where I can feel like home. The only good thing about the apartment is the location, but the rest I did not like at all. I was not allowed to have overnight guests, even though I had discussed it with the owner before and we had a written agreement (the guests I asked for were family/close friends from my home country Germany). I am a young professional and work full time in the city so I wasn't home much and didn't ask for much. But even the smallest things were not possible for me in this place. Agreements were not met and communication did not work out. So I would not recommend anyone to rent this room!

Based on the previous reviews you can see that it is not true what this young woman is saying. The way that she behaved did not match with the information that she gave me. I allowed her to have family/friends to visited but she was disrespectful. She never cleaning anything after she used it.

And not only that she asked me to bring a male to stayed in my apt. for 2 weeks in September and than another friend for 10 days in November included in her rent (for free).

So to do what does she wants she might has to rent her own apt. than she can has a often party. And I know why she is mad with me because she loved to lived here but in her way wasn't possible.

Thank you,

Helena

I lived here for 6 months and it was a comfortable apartment. I found exactly what I expected from the pictures and the description. The location is excellent, the area quiet and convenient, near the train for Manhattan. The room had all I needed and clean linen, the kitchen was well equipped, and the bathroom was small but clean. The landlord was very nice and helpful, respectful of my privacy.

My staying there was really amazing (as Americans say it was awesome). Helena is a great landlord and she became a great friend. It is hard to leave this apartment without tears.

The place is peaceful, quiet and she make it a real paradise. She even accommodate me with the bathroom time making it available when I needed and being a professional this was really important to me.

I can say that I really feel like home. The location is really great as we are close to Broadway subway station and Steinway avenue which is full of shops.

The apartment is lovely and clean. Helena was really a great person to live with and she was like my Brazilian mum to me always taking care of me.

I will definitively recommend this place. If you are looking for a place without drama and quiet this is the perfect place to live.

The funny part is that I was initially renting it only for one month and I end up living there for one year...so this is definitively the prove that I like it there!
