Close by the Champs Elysées Avenue, situated between rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré and rue Montalivet.
In the year 1616 it was Marie de Médicis who decided the laying out of a long alley bordered of trees where there were only fields. In 1709 it was named Champs Elysées, or Elysian Fields, in English, nowadays placed among the most picturesque Parisian symbols, considered as one of the most renowned and beautiful avenues in the world. In one of its extremities is the Arc du Triumph, built from 1806 to 1836, under Napoleon Bonaparte in honor to his victories. As driving around is a real challenge, and for that reason being dangerous and prohibited to cross straight-line the roundabout to access to the monument, pedestrians are strongly advised to follow the underground walkway built up for that purpose. On the other extremity are Place de la Concorde and its historic obelisk. This entire district abounds of points of interest, luxurious shops, gourmet restaurants and gorgeous coffee terraces, as well as all sorts of convenience stores.
