Neighborhood:
This furnished apartment is situated on Rue des Lions Saint-Paul between Rue Saint-Paul and Rue Beautreillis.
Mostly residential and select, just beside the Seine River with the delightful Ile Saint Louis, this is the very calm side of the Marais. For the most part a dynamic area of Paris, it includes a substantial number of points of interest such as museums, art galleries, and design shops, as well as diverse types of trendy bars and restaurants. Across the Pont de Sully is the renowned Boulevard Saint Germain with its cafes and restaurants of choice frequented by some great intellectuals and philosophers. All around this accommodation are excellent restaurants, nice cafes, and all sorts of services.
Premises:
Full of charm and history, having been the menagerie of King Henri II’s wife Catherine de Medicis, thisone bedroom apartment is located on the ground floor of a building from the beginning of the 17th century. The entrance gate, protected by a coded security system, opens into a hall where a portal with an intercom leads to a courtyard.
The apartment entrance opens into a hall linking a bedroom, the separate toilette and the living room, which then connects to the other rooms. The lack of windows in certain rooms darkens the apartment.
Be aware that pets (cats and dogs) live in the apartment with the landlord. They are not there when the apartment is rented out.
The 60m² (approx. 645 sq. ft.) living room has a skylight and is divided into two parts. The first part is the dining area, which is furnished with a large wooden dining table with chairs and a bench. The second part is the living room area, which has a cozy coin dig in the floor with a built-in rounded seat and a bench, a coffee table and a fireplace. There is also a double-size sofa, two armchairs, a hammock, and some bookshelves.
The recessed and open kitchen is equipped with three gas burners and one electric burner topped by a cooker hood, an oven, a microwave, a refrigerator, a freezer, a coffee maker, a toaster and a kettle. There is also a dishwasher.
The 18m² (approx. 190 sq. ft.) bedroom is furnished with a double-size bed, a large closet and a bookshelf with a TV, a DVD player and a VCR. There is no window in this bedroom. The room has a private bathroom, which has a bathtub topped by a showerhead, two washbasins, a toilette and a recess with a washing machine and a dryer.
A home office is located in the second bedroom, which is not available to guests.
Heat and hot water are gas.
For convenient travel around Paris, the nearest metro stations are Saint Paul (line 1) and Sully Morland (line 7).

[...] I did want to write and say how much we LOVED our apartment in Paris. It was wonderful to have that home for a week, and get to know a neighbourhood. The apartment was large, well equipped, full of character. I enjoyed staying in a place that was obviously someone's home. Our dealings with our "landlady" [...] were very cordial and everything went well. We would certainly recommend the apartment to anyone who asked about it. |
