Description
1 Bedroom Vacation Rental in Le Marais (PA-2521)
1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, 1 Half Bathroom - Sleeps 4

Combining an ideal location in Le Marais and great interiors, this one bedroom vacation rental at rue au Maire between rue Beaubourg and rue de Turbigo in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris features a southern and northern exposure to allow maximum sunlight all day long! This accommodation is located on the 1st floor (considered the 2nd floor by Americans) of an 18th century walk up building equipped with a security system.

Featuring white walls that contrast with a herringbone patterned parquet floor, this one bedroom apartment has 2.88 m (9.45 ft) high ceilings giving a sense of greater space. With three large windows garnished with curtains looking out over the silent paved courtyard, the living room is fitted out with a queen size sofa bed, two armchairs, a glass top rectangular coffee table, a drop leaf wooden dining table with six chairs, recessed bookshelves, a dresser, a stereo, and wall paintings. A corridor including a built in closet leads to the bedroom. It is furnished with a queen size bed with bedside stands and one lamp, a closet, a desk, a cabinet, a floor lamp, and two windows ornate with curtains on the street side. Separate and provided with a hatch and three stools, the kitchen is equipped with a microwave oven, an electric kettle, and a toaster in addition to all the basic amenities. Please note that there is no oven. Next to the bedroom, the bathroom encloses a shower cabin, a white washbasin, and has the convenience of a washing machine. Toilet is separate.

Very demanded area, Le Marais encloses the well-known pedestrian rue des Gravilliers, showing nice cheese mongers, fishmongers, greengrocers, and gorgeous restaurants and cafes. You will find it only one block south of this vacation rental (320 meters or 0.2 miles). Le Marais is one of the Paris' neighborhoods that has preserved almost all of its pre-Revolutionary architecture. Places of interest in the area are the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center, also known as Beaubourg (450 meters or 0.28 miles), and the wide shopping center Les Halles (750 meters or 0.46 miles), perfect place in the city center to find men and women's fashion, home and electronic items, or gifts under a single roof! A little farther (1.7 km or 1.05 miles away) is the royal Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris where many famous Frenchmen lived, among them Richelieu and Victor Hugo. The Place des Vosges is now a nice central park surrounded by arcades with shops and cafes.

The closest metro stations from your apartment are Arts et Métiers served by lines 3 and 11, and Réaumur Sébastopol (lines 3, 4). Line 3 crosses Paris from west to east, and line 4 from north to south, making commuting around Paris very easy from your apartment!

I loved this apartment. The building is very old and very French! The floors in the apartment are spectacular!

The area was pretty noisy at night, but I think that is part of being in Paris. We were there in the heat of summer, and it was quite hot.

THe landlord was very, very nice. We had everything we needed in this very authentic Paris apartment!
I would suggest it to anyone!

The location of this apartment for the price is great and we were able to walk mostly everywhere we wanted to as far as tourist attractions which was a big plus for us.
The apartment itself could have been upkept better in terms of comfort and the cleanliness of appliances and silver ware. The apartment building could be over 100 years old and it shows. We were able to make do and it is by no means an atrocious place to live but it was somewhat of a disappointment.

This apartment was a pleasure to stay in and the owner was quite friendly.
We found the location to be excellent. We were so close to important metros and within decent walking distance of the major sites and museums.
The apartment itself was comfortable and the building, despite it's central location, was relatively quiet. Neighbors who we met in passing were very friendly.
We felt very safe and enjoyed having it as a home-base for our travels.

We enjoy our stay en this apartment. It was clean and very well equipped. I like that the space make my family feel very comfortable. There is a grocery store a few steps from the apartment. It is walking distance to Notradam area. The owner was very charming, responsible and helpful. For sure I will use this apartment again.

This was an exceptionally nice apartment - friends in Paris who came round to see us were also very impressed! We really enjoyed staying here and would happily do so again. The rooms are particularly charming, with moulded ceilings and high windows; it is also very quiet for a city apartment, much better than other locations I've stayed in in Paris.

Negative Aspects: - The apartment was very dirty. The washing machine had black mildew in the soap compartment. The shower had to be scrubbed when we arrived there, as it was filthy and had hair in the basin.
- The sheets and blankets were old and used, the pillows as well.
- The sofa bed was so uncomfortable, very cheap quality. It was not made for sleeping.
- There were two smelly garbage cans constantly in front of the entrance to the flat.
- There was no WIFI in the flat, or at least it did not work.
- There were only two old bath towels in the flat.

Positive Points
- The flat was centrally located.
- The flat was bright with high ceilings and spacious rooms.
- The flat had nice storage closets.
This flat definitely needs to be cleaned properly if it is going to be a vacation rental. Invest in some new good quality sheets and linens. Keep the garbage cans away from the immediate entrance.

Further to this review, the owner contacted us to confirm that the accommodation will be cleaned as it is between each rental and will check the washing machine. They will look into replacing the pillows. As for the Internet, it is not currently a feature that is advertised for this vacation rental.

I was very happy with the apartment that I stayed in. It was in a very good, central location in close proximity to the Metro and to conveniences such as banks, supermarket, pharmacy etc... It was quite large for a one bedroom apartment, clean and well maintained. The apartment had a very homely feel to it and it was easy to get the impression of living like a local in Paris. I would highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Paris. It was also very good value for money.

I was able to speak with the owner on our last day and tell her what we appreciated and thought could be made better (at little cost).....like:

She said she had difficulties w/the cable (tv) company and telephone (for local calls).(so there was none of either.
The kitchen light is dim, as are the bedroom lamps
Could have used more bathroom towels
She's aware that the drying rack is broken
Let people know there's no oven in the kitchen (We'd picked-up a pizza before realizing it wouldn't do well in a microwave.
The Metro stop is easy
An easy (to me) walk to Notre Dame
A quiet; but "dark" street - It's only one block long and, other than the apartment building, there are wholesalers on the street. That did make it quieter than a busy street; but a "mixed" group of people. (It all depends on what people are looking for)
The owner is very nice.

The vacation rental was beautiful and very clean.
We had a very good time! Perfect because from there we could reach by walking various areas in Paris (the same evening of our arrival, regardless the rain, we went to visit Notre Dame at night and we pushed ourselves to stroll along the Seine!). Paris is fascinating and the vacation rental even more: it was our first time in Paris.
The apartment was a beautiful nest, warm and cozy.
The owner's daughter was very kind! Very available and attentive to everything.
At first I was afraid that the apartment (booked through computer) was going to be a fraud, but...everything corresponded to the pictures shown on the site!
Comfortable, central, clean, well furnished, very quiet (first floor of a small road), warm....even the shower worked perfectly! We did not really
cook (we had breakfast in the morning and at night we made crepes) but...there was everything needed....even herbal teas, pasta, etc.
In a few words I would go back and I truly recommend it to everyone.
Thank you for everything.

Our stay at our [Paris] apartment was wonderful. The rooms were clean, there were good cooking utensils, the furniture comfortable, our hostess was very helpful, honest and gracious. We have absolutely no complaints and will go to NY Habitat again to find accommodations wherever we travel to next. In fact I've already recommended your site to four other people. In my opinion, you've got the competition beat.

The vacation rentals I stayed with my family fully satisfied my expectations: the description of the accommodations is precise and there are "no bad surprises", when I stayed in New York my baby was only 4 years old and the solution of a vacation rental was the best choice I made. For that reason the following year I decided to use your services for London and this year for Paris. I have recommended your service to everyone and if I go back to those cities and especially NY, I will make the same decision.

I loved my Paris studio! [The owner] met us at the apartment and showed us around. She was so nice. The basket was filled with fresh fruit for our arrival. Everything was very clean and lovely. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone! Great location too!
