Discover Nice, a picturesque city in the South of France that has been a destination vacation location since the 18th century! This fully furnished alcove studio apartment is located in Old Nice ("Vieux Nice"), where you can see the historical roots of the city on its many winding streets. The apartment is found on the 2nd floor (considered the 3rd floor by Americans) of a 4-story building dating from the 18th century, but more recently modernized in the 21st century.
This charming apartment was renovated in 2011 but features exposed beams as a remnant of its past. The living room is furnished with a sofa, a wall-mounted TV with cable and a phone. Sliding doors can separate the sleeping alcove from the main living area to enhance privacy and quiet. The kitchen opens onto the living room and is equipped with a fridge, a coffee-maker, an oven and even a dishwasher.
Wireless Internet is available throughout the apartment.
The windows of the living room have eastern exposure, looking over a garden area and allowing in plenty of light in the mornings.
This apartment is located on the Ruelle du Malonat, in the popular "Old Town" section of Nice. This neighborhood is full of charming and colorful buildings, as well as winding streets and small stores. The beach is only 160m (about .1 mi) south from the apartment. You'll find plenty of restaurants, bars and shops on the beachfront.
The Old Nice has a lot of attractions to offer. Be sure to go to the Cours Saleya, 160m (approx .1mi) west from the apartment, which is the center of life in the Old Town. There is a daily market where you'll find many local products that you can cook in the apartment kitchen. About another 200m (.2mi) from here you will find the Chapelle de la Miséricorde, a magnificent testament to the prestige of the Cours Saleya which was built in 1740. It's considered a masterpiece of baroque architecture. The Old Nice is perfect for visiting but also for having fun, with many bars and other tourists to meet.
The nearest tramway station is Opéra-Vieille Ville (line T1), about 450m (a little over a 1/4 of a mile) away from the apartment (5 minute walk). This can take you to Nice's town centre or to other public transit options like the regional train or bus depot, allowing you to explore different parts of the French Riviera and the South of France!
