Enjoy the rustic charm of the South of France with the convenience of modern amenities in this one bedroom apartment, located in the Alps north of the French Riviera. The fully furnished vacation rental is located on the first of three floors (considered the second floor by Americans) of a historic building in the town of Saorge in the Roya Valley.
The living room is furnished in a fresh modern style, with white walls contrasting the rustic hardwood floors. A double sofa bed provides flexible sleeping space across from the wall-mounted flat screen TV. French doors let in light and allow you to access the balcony facing the street below.
The open kitchen is complete with essentials like the electric stove, fridge, freezer and sink as well as an oven. There’s even a dishwasher, making it easy to clean up the meals you’ll enjoy at the five-person dining table.
The bedroom’s double bed is right next to another street-side window, providing lots of fresh air. There is an additional sleeping alcove in the hall with a folding chair bed next to the window, a desk and a stool. There is a bathroom with a standing shower and sink as well as a separate WC.
Saorge is a typical French provincial town with a bakery, cafés, restaurants serving local cuisine, and a miellerie (honey factory) close by the apartment. The Saorge Monastery is a national monument, known for its Baroque architecture. The town is surrounded by the Mercantour National Park, offering hiking, rafting and ATV tours.
With this apartment, you get the best of the mountains and the sea! Take a day trip down to the coast and enjoy the Mediterranean beaches of Liguria, just 32.6km/20.2mi away (40 mins driving). Monaco (54.8km/34.1mi) and Nice (66.9km/41.6mi) are also close by, at around one hour’s drive.
