You won’t believe this duplex apartment rental in central Aix en Provence in the South of France. Take advantage of this offer to get the most space in the center of town, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a sun porch with views of the surrounding roofs. This two bedroom rental accommodation is located on the second and third floors (third and fourth American floors) of a secure building on the Rue Pavillon in the heart of Aix’s old city, one of the best preserved in Provence.
The lower floor contains the large living room, with a television, three sofas, a dining table and a fireplace, as well as two windows. The separate kitchen is fully equipped, including an oven, toaster, coffeemaker and dishwasher. It has everything you’ll need to cook and eat your own meals at home, perhaps using fresh ingredients from an authentic French market. The first bedroom, with a double bed and a large built-in closet, and one of the bathrooms are also on this floor.
After heading up the narrow spiral staircase, you’ll find the second bedroom’s two twin beds and a bedside table, along with the en-suite bathroom with a shower and toilet. The sun porch is also on this floor, with a desk and chairs making it the perfect place to get some work done or sit down with a book. All the rooms are equipped with fans, and the first bedroom also has air conditioning, and there is a washing machine for your convenience.
Located just blocks from the famous Cours Mirabeau and the historic quarter of Aix en Provence, this is the perfect two bedroom apartment for both people looking for a prime vacation spot and those who want a longer stay. The Musée Granet, one of the most famous museums in all Provence, is less than 300 m from your door (less than 5 minutes walking away). Right next door is the Saint-Jean de Malte church, the oldest example of Gothic architecture in Provence. Most other major sites in Aix are within walking distance, the benefit of living just outside the city’s medieval walls.
Aix en Provence is easy to get to, no matter how you’re arriving. The high-speed TGV trains from Paris stop at the Aix-Les Milles station about 16 km south of the city (with a bus connecting the two), while the Maresille-Provence Airport is 35 km (about 30 minutes driving) away. If you want to explore the rest of Provence, take a day trip to the sand beaches and limestone cliffs (calanques) just a half hour away along the Mediterranean coast. To beat the heat, head up into the foothills of the Alps to the east of Aix, either way, there's something for everyone.
