This furnished studio for rent is on the ground floor of a 1-story villa (equivalent to an American 2-story) in the village of Célony, near Aix en Provence and in the south of France. This apartment has its own terrace and parking space.
The ground level studio apartment is bright and colorful, and blends nicely into the larger villa it is a part of. The entrance gives on the garden and a parking space, with a covered terrace to shade yourself from the sun in summer, and perhaps eat outside to enjoy the view over the wide garden. Inside, the main room is furnished with a double bed and nicely surrounded by paintings and a TV. The room is large enough to benefit from a tall window looking towards the garden, brightening the room with natural light. The kitchen has a modern and seamless feel, featuring most necessary appliances to make your way through some local recipes. The bathroom next door has a shower, and the apartment is well separated from the rest of the house for your privacy.
On the outskirts of Aix en Provence, a city that centralizes most of the region’s strong history inherited from the ancient Provence. The immediate surroundings are that of a typical Provence village called Célony, where a French bakery and local stores are only 4 blocks away in the center. Further choices can be attained by reaching Aix-en-Provence, a short drive or bus ride away, where a large selection of trendy shops are found in the “new center”. The historical center will be surrounding the Cours Mirabeau with famous pubs and restaurants, for instance the “Les Deux Garçons” where Cézanne, Zola and Hemingway were regular patrons. The narrow streets are charmingly wind through unexpected yet moving places, including many fountains and historic buildings. The main site is at the end of the Cours Mirabeau, where the Rotonde fountain offers a great sight.
To get back home, the Marseille airport is a short drive away (also accessible via bus), providing regular national and international flights that will take you where you want to go. You can also catch the train in Aix-en-Provence, taking you to Paris in just over 3 hours, or drive along the highways going north, east or west.
