Located in the village of Saint Rémy de Provence, you enter this vacation rental property through a large secured gate giving access to 2 separate villas, both enclosed with their own garden and swimming-pool. This recently built and tastefully decorated duplex home features four bedrooms and four bathrooms on two different levels and a full air conditioning system. There are enough parking spaces for several cars and a garage can house vehicles.
On the ground floor of the villa, you'll find a 645 square feet (60 sqm) large living room and dining area, overlooking the garden and the swimming pool through two sets of south-exposed French windows. Fully furnished, it even features a fireplace and a décor matching the noble materials and the colors used in the eat-in kitchen that opens on the living-room via a countertop. The kitchen comes with the major appliances you might need during your stay and has a dishwasher as well as a washing machine in a laundry room enclosed for your convenience. The first bedroom, situated on the same level, offers a French window on the garden and a double bed; the other bedrooms are upstairs, with two bedrooms each having three single beds and another with a double bed and a baby crib. Each bedroom of this vacation rental has south exposed windows and its own en-suite bathroom with sink, toilets and shower and/or bathtub.
Outside you are given the opportunity to fully enjoy the typically lovely weather of the South of France, since you have a 32 000 square feet (almost 3000 sqm) landscaped garden. There is also a furnished covered patio, with a dining area and outdoor kitchen with barbecue, gas burners and a sink. A bit further in the garden is a heated swimming-pool and furnished deck: make sure to enjoy the shades of the reed sun umbrellas on a deckchair after a dip! The garden and swimming pool are maintained by specialists while a maid and linen change services are also provided once a week!
This four bedroom accommodation is situated just ¾ mile (1.2 km) from the center of Saint Rémy de Provence, down the mountain range called Les Alpilles and only 12 miles (19 km) from Avignon, the famed City of the Popes!
From its surroundings, the Alpilles form both a striking and a harmonious picture: this landscape attracted famous painters such as Van Gogh, Cézanne and Matisse who came here to capture the extraordinary light and colors of the region. This area, also nicknamed the “Provence of the Rhone”, and has a strong Roman heritage: the famous ruins of Glanum -an archeological site from the first century BC- are 1.3 miles (a little over 2 km) away.
This area is a rich agricultural area with rolling plains of fruit orchards, olives groves and all variety of Mediterranean vegetables. The sound of chirping 'cigales' (cicadas) and the intoxicating aromas of multitude of wild herbs convey an impression of peaceful and yet omnipresent wildlife surrounding you!
The closest highway is the A7 (exit Cavaillon), 11 miles (18 km) away, which goes from Lyon to Marseille with connections for all major cities of the south east of France. The nearby train station is at Avignon and is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse, i.e. high speed train) that goes to Paris in just 2 hours and 40 minutes! For flights, the airport is also at Avignon with daily trips to Paris; however, most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
