Vacationing in NYC? enjoy Gotham City through the lens of of this two bedroom vacation rental in a landmark building. With high ceilings and original wooden doors and window sashes, this Harlem home has a comfortable vibe and modern amenities, like a dishwasher and recessed lighting.
This vacation rental is on the 2nd floor of a classic walk-up townhouse with a doorbell. The owner's duplex upstairs shares the lovely entrance foyer. Located in the area of 120th Street & Lenox Avenue, this Manhattan apartment is situated in the center of Harlem’s tourist hub, just off Lenox Avenue and a few streets south of the main shopping corridor on 125th Street.
The apartment features wood floors throughout and has double exposure to the north (street) and south (courtyard), allowing in plenty of natural light. In the living room you’ll find a piano and TV to entertain yourself, and a sitting area with two sofas (one of which opens to a queen size futon bed). A wooden dining table allows your group to enjoy meals cooked in the well-equipped kitchen that is open to this room.
The bedrooms are located on opposite ends of the apartment, enhancing privacy. The master bedroom (Bedroom 1) is located at the front of the building, with a queen sized bed and a closet. Bedroom 2 is located at the back of the building, and also has a queen size bed and a closet for belongings.
This part of Harlem is close to museums (Studio Museum), shopping and parks! Be sure to check out these options during your explorations:
- If you’d like to shop for clothes, toiletries or home items just head to 125th Street where you’ll find stores such as Marshall’s, H&M, The Body Shop, and Carol’s Daughter as well as smaller shops.
- Stop by the famous Apollo Theater for amateur's night located on 125th Street, one of the venues that put Harlem on the map for entertainment. Otherwise, the Magic Johnson Theaters has plenty of movie options for a night out in the neighborhood.
- There are both casual and famous dining options in this area including Settepani, Le Meilleur du Monde Café, Sylvia’s and Red Rooster -- even President Obama ate here when he visited New York!
- Marcus Garvey park is literally just down the street from this accommodation and Central Park is just a bit over 1/2 a mile south (about 900m).
Near this two bedroom apartment, there are subway stops at 116th Street & Lenox Avenue where you’ll find the 2/3 subway lines (.3mi/400m) and 116th Street & 8th Avenue where you’ll find the B/C line (.6mi/800m). The express train can take you to Times Square in the center of Manhattan in just 4 stops!

Very good location in Harlem, next to a park, subway stations and lots of good restaurants, big and comfortable apartment. Very well-equipped. Owner is very friendly and welcoming. The only drawback is the cleanliness in the bedrooms and the doors without handles. I recommend this place. |

The apartment was spacious and well maintained. We enjoyed being in that part of Harlem and felt quite safe for the duration of our stay. We parked our car outside the apartment which was very convenient. [The vacation rental] was also only a short walk to the Subway for trips downtown. We would stay there again on another visit. |
