This alcove studio apartment is located in the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris, within the 18th arrondissement on the right bank of the River Seine. It is on the fifth and top floor (considered 6th by Americans) of a 1920’s building with a coded entry system for security. During your stay, you will have the convenience of wifi internet access and cable programming and an in-unit washer & dryer.
With a southern exposure, this 32-m² (345 sqm) unit offers beautiful landscape views of the City of Lights, and of classic Parisian rooftops of neighboring buildings. The main entrance opens onto a hallway, which is lined with hardwood floors and multiple windows allow in the sunshine. To your left is the bathroom, which has white tiles along its floors and walls. It contains a washbasin, wall-mounted mirror and shelf, toilet, shower stall, and laundry machine. The kitchen, in the adjacent room, is equipped with the basic appliances and utensils needed for home-cooked meals. The end of the hall opens onto the living area, fitted with multiple in-built shelves and furnished with a small dining table and long desk, each suitable for two guests. Additionally, there is a side table and double sofa bed facing an area rug, coffee table, flat-screen TV, and comfortable chair. The sleeping area is next to the living room and a wall between the spaces allows for privacy; please note, however, that there is no door separating the rooms. The sleeping alcove has a built-in closet with sliding doors. Both the living and sleeping areas have French doors that open onto a lovely balcony that’s perfect for relaxing and taking in the fresh air.
On Rue la Vieuville & Rue des Trois Frères, this one bedroom apartment is situated near public transportation. The Abbesses subway station (180m / 590 ft) on line 12 and Anvers station (450m / 1500 ft) on line 2 make it easy to get around the city. Montmartre is a popular area among locals and tourists alike because of its many attractions, including the famous Sacré Coeur basilica atop the hill (400m / 1300 ft ), and the Moulin Rouge cabaret on Boulevard Clichy (850m / 0.53 mi). Enjoy the greenery at Square Louis Michel, a sloped garden with a steep staircase (222 steps) that leads up to the basilica. The square has diverse vegetation, historical monuments—like the fountain by Paul Gasq—and offers breathtaking views over Paris. Visit the marché Barbès in the Goutte d’Or district (1.2km / 0.7 mi), where you’ll find a variety of unique handcrafted items from the African continent, predominantly the North African region—they’ll make great gifts when you return home! Don’t miss out on the amazing French pastries at Grenier à Pain (330m / 1080 ft), best known for its baguettes and croissants. Another great dining spot is La Bonne Franquette (350m / 1150 ft), which has a cozy atmosphere, great service, and a fantastic wine menu paired with delicious steaks!
