Overlooking the cobbled intersection of three streets in Paris’s 13th Arrondissement, this furnished studio apartment benefits from the intimate atmosphere outside and translates it to a distinct curiosity inside. It sits on the first floor (equivalent to the second floor in the USA) of a three-story building near Rue de Domréry and Rue du Dessous des Berges in the neighborhood of Olympiads. There is a washing machine in the apartment and no elevator.
As is some of the best that Paris has to offer, this apartment is a novelty. On a column in the main room, the seam between wall and ceiling is continuous and rounded, giving the space some of the feel of an adobe dwelling. The window washes the main room in soft daylight. Rich, dark hardwood flooring offsets and complements the style of the lightly colored, concave surface wrapping the space. In the furnished main room, you will find a dining table and a sofa, which folds out into a double sofa bed. And in the separate kitchen you will find a fridge, a freezer, and a microwave. There is a glass shower in the bathroom.
The plaza-like intersection which the apartment overlooks is home to several restaurants, and the area immediately surrounding the apartment is home to several boulangeries (bakeries). Square Héloïse et Abélard is located two blocks from the apartment. You can enjoy the banks of la Seine after a 500-meter (around 0.6 mile) stroll. If you double the distance, you can visit la Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand or cross Passerelle Simone de Beauvoir and visit le Parc de Bercy. The 13th Arrondissement is home to le Quartier asiatique (the Asian quarter) and la Butte-aux-Cailles, two pocket communities in Paris.
Located 600 meters (around 0.4 miles) from the apartment, the Bibliothèque François Mittrand station services the 14 and C subway lines. The Olympiads station is 100 meters (around 330 feet) nearer, but it only services the 14 subway.
