1 Bedroom Vacation Rental in Le Marais (PA-2286)
1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 3

Located between Bd. Beaumarchais and Place des Vosges,

In a few minutes walking distance to the symbol of the French Republic, the Bastille Place, the harmonious Place des Vosges, originally named the Place Royale, was built between 1605 and 1612 under Henry IV, the king. Here lived many historical personalities such as the world famous novelist, Victor Hugo, at number 6 - now a museum - Maison de Victor Hugo. Many museums, art galleries, selected restaurants, and pleasant cafes in this area provide unique entertainment moments. All other important points of interest such as the Louvre Museum, the Champs Elysées, and the Opera Garnier, are in a short distance by metro.

Northeast exposed and facing the street this charming 30m2 1 bedroom apartment is located on the 4th floor (5th for Americans) of an 18th century walk-up building having a security system. White walls enhance the ceiling genuine exposed beams, the genuine stones' wall, and the nice parquet floor, the whole enlighten by French windows garnished with curtains, all overlooking the street.

Light furnished, to the left side of the 15m2 living room there is a single sofa bed (120cm), an antique closet, and a rectangular wooden dining table. To the right side a TV, VCR and DVD, a stereo and a small window ventilates the kitchen open space. There are two windows, one of them opening to a small balcony.

Wooden sliding doors decorated with stained glass panels open to the bedroom, fitted out with a 140cm wide double bed which head is placed against a genuine stone's wall, and a closet.

Open to the living room the kitchen space is equipped with two vitro ceramic burners, an oven, a small fridge, a combo washing-drying machine, a wooden worktop, and utensils put away in the cupboards above and shelves below the stainless steel sink.

Across the bedroom, to the right side, the nice bathroom encloses a quite wide shower cabin with glass sliding doors, a washbasin with a mirror above, and toilet.

The bathroom is also accessible from the living room.

The nearest metro stations are Bastille (line 1, 5, and 8), and Chemin Vert (line 8).

This apartment is ideally located in the Marais section of Paris -- within easy walking distance of many museums, and within an easy and short Metro ride to other major attractions; it is right next to the Place des Vosges, one of the most beautiful areas of Paris.

The owner is a delight to work with and speak to; she is American born, so, obviously, she speaks English extremely well. She is also very accommodating, and handled any issues quickly. The bathroom is pretty large and contains ample space for toiletries, etc. The shower is a large one for a European apartment, and the hot water tank (in Europe, each apartment usually has its own) is the largest I have encountered in Europe, so there is plenty of hot water for showers.

The apartment is well-equipped with practically everything a traveler might need, including adaptors for the electricity, an iron, fan, etc. The only drawbacks are the fact that the apartment is on the fourth floor (the way floors are counted in Europe; it would be called the fifth floor in the U.S.) -- that's 68 steps (my wife counted) up a spiral staircase, and the noise level.

The apartment is on an active street, and the block contains several bars/cafes/restaurants either right below the apartment or across the street. In summer, people sit or otherwise spill onto the street, which can be quite loud.

Also, in the summer, while the apartment does not get exceedingly hot, one might want to leave the windows open to get some cooler air, and this obviously leads to an increase in the noise level.

Thanks to Ronald for this review, I was very happy to host him this summer. The apartment is located in one the oldest historic neighborhoods in Paris, right in the heart of the city, close to many attractions. It is an old building like many others Paris, which gives the building all its charm. So there is no elevator, as stated in the apartment description.

The weather is usually cold and rainy in Paris, and we are always waiting for the sun, so there is no need for air conditioning. However, it is true that it was particularly hot in July this year since there was a heatwave in Paris, something that had not happened for many years. Still, there is a fan in the apartment if it's too hot.

There are many attractions in the center of Paris during the summer vacation, and nice little café bars down the street; so it may be noisier than during the rest of the year.

The apartment is beautiful and is in a perfect area of the 3rd district. It is very charming, bright and spacious. The Juliet balcony was a nice place to sit and watch people stroll by. The owner was very friendly (American so the communication was easy) and accommodating.

I would rent this place every time I return to Paris and highly recommend it!

- Apartment experience: Very good experience, communication with the owner was very good. Owner went out of her way to make sure we were happy and comfortable.

- Location: Perfect location, easy to walk to Metro, grocery store, boutiques, restaurants. Right next to a beautiful park. Great Neighborhood! After spending six days in Paris we decided this was our favorite neighborhood.

- Cleanliness: Very clean
- Condition, comfort, amenities: TV, stereo,WIFI, Washer/rack, small kitchen, hair dryer, phone, comfortable bed. Heaters worked very well. Good hot water in Shower.

- Building: Just be ready to climb up narrow steps 4 flights. good workout.
- Quiet/Loud: Could hear the people above us a little, but it wasn't bothersome. Street noise was quiet except for Christmas eve, but that was probably an exception.

This is the second time I've used NY Habitat for an apartment in Paris, and again I have been very pleased and satisfied with your service. There is a large selection of apartments in various areas and prices to choose from. The follow-up is great, and the process to secure the apartment is very simple. The apartment owner was very good in contacting me and responding to any questions I had.

I was very pleased with the actual apartment based on the pictures provided. The location was great; staying in the Marais neighborhood of Paris is wonderful with many cafes, and very close to all the tourist sites.

Staying in an apartment is the best way to experience Paris. And, since Paris is one of my favorite cities, I hope to visit again, and will definitely use NY Habitat for an apartment.

I had an extremely positive experience in renting through nyhabitat.

The whole process went very smoothly, from my phone calls to [my agent] and then choosing the apartment and dealing with the owner.

The owner responded to all queries and was particularly punctual and reliable as far as letting us into apartment and picking up keys. This was important to us as we had flights to catch and were tight on time. She was very friendly and helpful with information on meeting us and extended a very warm welcome to Paris.

The apartment met all our expectations, great location [in Paris], just like the pictures, very clean and we had absolutely everything we needed.

I would definitely rent this apartment again, and would recommend nyhabitat to friends as I already have. We had a great time at the french open...thanks!!

I appreciated staying in the apartment in Paris. It was a nice, neat, clean apartment with 3 large windows and an open airy feeling since all the windows are floor to ceiling.

The apartment was equipped with nice furnishings and cookware. It was on the 3d floor up from ground level with a nice view, and reached by stairs. The balcony was nice and the location of the apartment was ideal being in the Marais and right by the Place des Vosges. We could walk everywhere.

The owner was a great hostess and went out of her way to make sure we were having a nice time. She is from New York so she speaks English well which is great for visiting Americans and other English speakers. She also has a nice collection of maps and guidebooks for her guests.

The apartment was really nice - it was great having a nice large bathroom while staying overseas, and a huge shower. I would definitely recommend the apartment anyone interested, and the host and hostess are very hospitable and "gay-friendly".

I had a great experience with NYHabitat and with the apartment owner in Paris. The apartment was exactly as described. Just what we expected. I had done lots of shopping around before decided on this place, and I was very pleased with the straightforward pricing, the helpful customer service, and the highly informative and useful information about the apartments on your website.

As for the apartment itself, the owner was very friendly and worked with us on timing and payment very well. The apartment was in top shape and everything worked great. The owner gave us tips on the neighborhood and on getting around in general.

We couldn't be more pleased with the experience, all the way through.
We've been raving about the apartment and NYHabitat to our friends and family who have asked about our lodging in Paris. Thanks again!

The apartment in Paris was clean, well furnished, comfortable and safe. It was on a corner that was noisy at night and it was a little difficult getting a good night sleep due to the noise. The owners of the apartment were helpful and pleasant. Thank you!

We were very happy with our apartment in the Marais. It was well appointed and located in a wonderful and fascinating part of the city. The owners could not have been more helpful in making sure we had everything we needed and in giving us helpful local knowledge.

The vacation rental was the perfect base for a wonderful stay. Also we would like to thank Nathalie in being so efficient, cheerful and friendly in making the arrangements. We hope we can use your services in the future.
