South France Accommodation - 6 Bedroom Rental in Beaucaire, Provence (PR-794)

This unique hilltop Villa Romantique was built around an old circular stone tower with windows. The Provençal villa is up a winding private lane from the road, set amongst pine and olive trees, and can accommodate between 2 and 12 people. Its most unique features are the circular pool and the stone turret with original windows that face out over the Provençal landscape! A sunbathing terrace next to the pool has long chairs and a summer kitchen with cooking equipment (including a barbecue!) and a stone table for al fresco dinners.

The common areas include a Baronial-style Dining Room for 2 to 12, accessible through a set of French doors from the entrance hall, and a lounge centered around a Provençal stone fireplace. A satellite TV (English BBC channels, Sky News, CNN etc.) is available for entertainment, along with a DVD player, stereo and internet connection. Home cooks will love the spacious separate kitchen, fully equipped with, 4-ring gas hob, electric oven, microwave, large fridge and freezer, and more, even a dishwasher for easy clean-up! The room is also furnished with a beautiful antique oven, which is only decroative.

There are two bedrooms are available on the ground floor, served by two bathrooms, one with twin washbasins, a large corner bath, and a separate toilet, and the other with a shower and WC. There is also laundry room with washing machine, dryer ironing board and iron. Upstairs, 4 bedrooms offer a variety of sleeping options for groups. The remaining bathrooms are convenient to these sleeping accommodations.

The property is located in the "Golden Triangle" of Nîmes, Avignon and Arles, three of Provence's most beautiful and historic towns where many of the region's sights are located.

• 5 minutes away is the ancient town of Beaucaire (from "Bel Caire" - Beautiful Stone in Provencal) provides the perfect base for exploring Provence and the Camargue. The town is situated on the riverside of the Rhone, one of the fourth largest rivers in France. The center of has beautiful pedestrian streets and used to be a famous regional market town. Of course, there are banks, restaurants, pharmacies, several supermarkets, and all the shops and services you would expect from a regional hub : bars, restaurants and boutiques of souvenirs.
• The regional center and seat of the department, Nîmes, is 20 minutes to the west. Here you find large department stores, luxury shops, and wide pedestrian avenues through its large and lovely historical quarter. The Nîmes train station is served by the high-speed TGV (the "train grande vitesse," only 3 hours to Paris). The “Nîmes-Arles-Camargue Airport”, 20 minutes drive away, has daily domestic flights from/to London (Stanstead airport) and of course Paris, where most international flight connections are made through.
• To the south the land flattens toward the Mediterranean and the natural reserve of La Camargue is worth the trip : flamingos, white horses, black bulls and … a few mosquitoes !
• With a car, you can range far and wide on day trips alone: Saint-Rémy de Provence and the Alpilles are only 20 minutes away and Avignon only 20 minutes. The French Riviera is 2 and a half hours away.
