This London accommodation is a 2 double-bedded bedrooms/ 2 bathrooms vacation rental in Lambeth. Loft-style character apartment with great value. Originally a coffee or tea warehouse built around 1850, Playhouse Court has been cleverly converted into apartments. The entrance to this 750sq.ft.1st (US 2nd) floor apartment is from the courtyard with 17 steps up to its main door. This loft-style apartment has retained many original features such as whitewashed brick walls, fireplaces and Baltic pine plank flooring and, being a private home, it also has many individual touches such as antiques, books and music CD's .Also wireless broadband. The living room has polished wooden floors, an ornamental fireplace and "brie cheese effect" brick walls. The lounge has 2 sofas, a large coffee table, dining table with seating for 6, stereo system, and metered telephone. Calls are charged at 10p per unit (including local calls), this covers calls made, line rental and tax. Bedroom one ( with en-suite bathroom ) has a double bed and a handwash basin , large built in wardrobe together with a TV, VCR, radio and CD player. The second double bedroom is an alcove off the hallway with its own wardrobe. Both bedrooms opens out onto a roof terrace with a small deck with a table and chairs under a vine covered pergola. The totally concealed kitchen area has a fridge/freezer, washing machine, electric cooker, dishwasher, pantry area and storage. The fully tiled bathroom has a shower cubicle (with good pressure shower), heated towel rail, wash hand basin and toilet. The apartment sleeps up to 5 people. A baby's cot can be supplied at no extra charge. Located just south of the river Thames in Southwark Bridge Road the following attractions are all easily accessible from the apartment: Tate Modern Art Gallery, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, The Millennium Bridge, The Tower of London, HMS Belfast, Southwark Cathedral, The London Eye (a gigantic Ferris wheel with spectacular views over the rooftops of London), The Young Vic, The Old Vic, The London Aquarium, St Paul's Cathedral, the Oxo Tower and the South Bank Centre. Nearest underground stations are Southwark, Borough and London Bridge. Please note: There is absolutely no smoking in this apartment.
