This is a pre-war, 12-story building overlooking the Hudson River. The apartment is on the fifth floor and is approximately 1,100 square feet. The rooms are large and have wooden floors.
The blue room (bedroom 1) has a full-size bed/couch (not a futon) and the green room (bedroom 2) has a queen-size bed in it. Both rooms have desks/tables, phones and an air purifier. Linens and towels are provided. The green room also comes with an air conditioner and a TV with cable. There are Japanese futons which can be used to make a nice bed for a child or adult if a separate additional bed is needed.
Access to a wireless Internet network is available so a computer can be used anywhere in the apartment. Cable TV, free long distance within the U.S., a full bathroom and a washer/dryer are available. THIS IS A NON-SMOKING APARTMENT. There are two cats in the home but there is very very little hair or dander. The apartment also has wi-fi internet access.
The neighborhood is a cultural mix and increasingly has more students that attend Columbia University. One of the best groceries in the city is in this area - Fairway, at the river and 132nd Street. Across the street is Riverbank Park, with an Olympic size swimming pool, a track and a skating rink.
For transportation, the 1-line is available (equal distance) at either 137th or 145th Street.
